Inspired: Femme Meets Menswear

PopSugarUK recently took a look at Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley on the red carpet at The Edge of Love world premiere in Edinburgh. While I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the film, what really interested me was the gals' attire. FabSugar picked up on how long and lean they looked, but I personally have been wooed by how dapper they looked in their menswear-inspired getups. Between Keira's sequined tuxedo jacket and Sienna's bowler hat, I'd say they're looking very Diane Keaton (known for sporting vintage men's clothing) meets Studio 54. I love this glammed-up menswear look, and wouldn't mind replicating it in my home for a special occasion. The image also instantly reminded me of the Jake Phipps Hat Pendant Lights that I wrote about back in October. To get the authentic tuxedo look, I've rounded up some stylish furnishings in a black-and-white palette. How-To: Get Into Albert Hammond Jr.'s Bedroom

The bedroom of any member of The Strokes is something that millions of girls (including Yours Truly) have dreamt of seeing. So, it's my pleasure to announce that you're all one step closer to Albert Hammond Jr.'s sheets - but not if I beat you to it. Hammond has put his 1,200-square-foot, two-bedroom, 1.5-bath East Village apartment on the market for $899,000. The property was originally listed for $1.2 million last August, but you know how the housing market is these days. Even though the guitarist and solo artist may not come with the deal, I'd be happy to own his digs (if not his heart). Bright, oversize windows and high-beamed ceilings give it a loft-like feeling and terrific views of the hipsters in Alphabet City. I'm loving the retro red bar stools and blue kitchen tile. Fabulous California Closets, used to store the menswear designer's extensive collection of three-piece suits, are also a plus. Oh, and aspiring rockstar girlfriends, there's bike storage in the basement to keep your fixed-gear safe. See pics when you read more.

This Just In: Todd Oldham Releases Carpet Series For Durkan

Todd Oldham has released a new series of flexible, versatile, carpet designs for Durkan, a division of the Mohawk Group, which will feel right at home in hospitality interiors. TODD: Todd Oldham Designs Durkan, launched at the Hospitality Design Expo 2008 in Las Vegas this month. The Haberdashery Collection pays tribute to menswear by updating classics patterns like argyle, corduroy, plaid, herringbone, hounds-tooth, and checks with contemporary colors and pattern directions, dressing hospitality interiors with design elements that will never go out of style. The Facets Collection was inspired by jewels and chains, sometimes layered or highlighted by texture and color, adding an element of luxury and cohesive distinction. According to Oldham, "These accents effectively and cost efficiently bring an added richness and dimension to the designs that might have previously only been achieved in woven carpet." The Concentrics Collection experiments, "with scale and turning the design elements in different angles," taking "concentric squares in a new direction that can be appreciated and enjoyed by designers looking to achieve any style - from modern contemporary to rustic." I'm really digging some of these designs; I may just have to buy a hotel so I can cover my floors in TODD — dream. Until then, we can keep a look out for these designs the next time we travel to a Home Away From Home!
