According to Big Time, the former home of Gwen Stefani, and current home of That '70s Show creator Mark Brazill is on the market for nearly $4.9 million. Built in 1928, Sotheby's calls it "one of the finest Mediterranean estates in Los Feliz." With Moroccan-looking tiles throughout, many original architectural details, as well as magnificent landscaping, it truly is stunning. While certain elements of the interior design do enhance its appeal, the architectural bones of this 1920s Mediterranean home are what elevate it to Coveted Crib status. Coveted Crib: Abbijane Schifrin's Technicolor Townhouse

The Gramercy Park townhouse of the late fashion designer Abbijane Schifrin is on the market for $8.75 million, and it's truly a dream. The five-story 1855 building sits on a delightful, tree-lined street and looks quite prim from the exterior, with a pair of 21 Club-esque jockeys and a cast-iron gate. But inside the house is dressed with glitzy gilt walls, bright turquoise and pink paint, and Mediterranean-style arts and crafts tilework - a drastic deviation from what passersby see. January Jones Buys a Fixer-Upper in Los Feliz

January Jones's character in Mad Men may live in a picture-perfect house, but in real life, the actress doesn't mind a little work. January just snatched up a fixer-upper in LA's Los Feliz neighborhood for just over $1 million. The 2,200-square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath 1920s Mediterranean villa is definitely dated, and a far cry from some of the slickly renovated homes of her contemporaries.

The kitchen, with its sad linoleum floors and vintage cabinets, could be reconfigured and remodeled. But overall the space is charming and bright with beautiful landscaping, and it would make an ideal place to throw a '60s-inspired cocktail party. See photos when you read more.

On the Market: Spend Some Green on this Green Day House

While Green Day lead singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong may hail from working-class roots, his Bay Area home, which is now on the market for $4.85 million, shows that he's certainly not living on a boulevard of broken dreams.
I wouldn't read anything into the decor of the house, or Armstrong's punk sensibilities (or lack thereof), since I'm sure that this house has been staged within an inch of its life. Whoever staged it seems to have taken a little too much inspiration from Napa Style, Pottery Barn, and a really unfortunate mix of poorly sourced Moroccan influences.

Located in the swanky Upper Rockridge neighborhood of Oakland, the Mediterranean-style five-bedroom, four- and two-half bath home spreads across 7,000 square feet on a nearly 1/2 acre double lot. Built a little more than 10 years ago, the home features a pool, pool house, and professional music studio.

The listing for the property notes that the "original Julia Morgan steps [are] intact." Armstrong's house was built on the site of Red Gate, a gorgeous mansion built for Charles Wells by one of my favorite architects, Julia Morgan. The home apparently burned down in the 1991 Oakland fires. And while I'm sure that Mark Becker, the architect commissioned by Armstrong to build his home, is a fine designer and builder, hardly anyone can, in my opinion, compare to Julia Morgan's sublime style.

On the Market: Yves Saint Laurent's Villa Mabrouka

French designer Yves Saint Laurent, who passed away in June 2008, is known for his iconic fashions. However, the designer also had a discerning eye when it came to the world of real estate. His Moroccan home, Villa Mabrouka, or "House of Luck," is currently on the market, and I am swooning over the house's location, style, and interior design.

Interior Design notes,

The Moroccan home represents a collaboration between two of the great French aesthetes of the 20th century: Laurent, who turned pantsuits and safari jackets into haute couture, and Jacques Grange, the only interior designer ever to receive the Légion d'Honneur, France's highest decoration. Perched on a cliff overlooking the coast of the Spanish region of Andalusia and the Strait of Gibraltar, the 9,688-square-foot home rests on nearly two acres of grounds landscaped by Madison Cox, featuring soaring palms, Italian lemon trees, and extensive lawns. A heated swimming pool was excavated into the mountain rocks on which the estate stands, while a nearby pavilion was designed by architect Stuart Church.

Summer Style: A Lake Getaway in Surprising Colors

I doubt that I would ever think of painting a cottage these two colors. Still, the contrast between the Mediterranean blue and rusty brick red is certainly eye-catching, and there's something so innocent and playful about the combination. In fact, it almost seems as if odd, surprising colors should be de rigueur for Summer getaways. It seems to me as if the colors alone demand that one relax, sit back, and enjoy the space. After all, there's nothing serious about a Summer getaway. It should be all about enjoyment!

Charlie Sheen Lists His Lovely Los Feliz Pad

Charlie Sheen has listed his 4,179-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-and-one-half bath restored Mediterranean-style-home in LA's Los Feliz neighborhood for $3.7 million.

The home, which is not Sheen's principal residence, might just be my favorite celebrity home I've seen to date. Sheen and his wife have made the wise choice to let the gated villa's beautiful architectural details (vaulted, wood-beamed ceilings, rich wood floors, stunning floor tiling, a sweeping staircase) shine by using primarily solid white upholstery and adding personality with accessories and interesting artwork. Outside, the home boasts a courtyard entry, a lush, private backyard with swimming pool, and outdoor terraces. When it comes down to it, I wouldn't change a thing about the home, and I'd gladly move in today. See dozens of photos when you read more.

This Just In: Johnny Knoxville Splits the Hills

Jackass Johnny Knoxville has listed his three-bedroom Mediterranean in the Hollywood Hills for $1.7 million, according to Big Time. The listing for the property reads:

Knoxville and his wife of 12 years are in the middle of a divorce, so that's likely the reason for the sale. The house is truly a gem, with great bones, 1920s character (much like Gwen Stefani's old digs), privacy, and lush landscaping. I cannot imagine why else he would put it on the market. Etsy Find: Black Lacquer Chairs

I've been finding some very cute furniture pieces lately on Etsy. From the Fruit Stripe Dresser to the Jean Pelle Vanity Cabinet, it seems as if more vendors and customers are discovering that Etsy's not just for home accessories and jewelry these days.

I love the purple exuberance of this pair of Mediterranean Chairs ($950). That eggplant hue will certainly make a statement in your living room or bedroom, though I think they'd also look fabulous in an office. Of course, I'm also attracted to their high-gloss black lacquer finish.

The clever ladies behind Spruce Home, a design studio based in Austin, TX, are responsible for these cool chairs. I'm definitely a fan of their work, and have featured it in the past. If these purple chairs aren't your style, check their Etsy store for other cool furniture finds.

This Just In: Faith Hill and Tim McGraw List Their Hills Manse

Country singin' couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have put their sprawling 10,500-square-foot, six-bedroom, five-bath Beverly Hills mansion on the market for a measly $14.8 million, according to Real Estalker. The property description reads:

Mediterranean estate w/ grand views & privacy in prestigious Beverly Park South. Situated on over 4 acres the estate offers sweeping panoramic views. Grand two story entry features limestone floors, large skylight & wrap around staircase. This home is highlighted by a spacious and elegant master suite w/ his & her baths connecting to a state of the art gym. Gourmet kitchen w/ stainless steel appliances, large open formal dining room w/ step down living room. Manicured gardens w/ luxurious pool.

I'm really loving the exterior, and the structure itself, and "sweeping panoramic views" sound pretty fab to me. But, I'm not too keen on some of their nouveau riche décor choices (faux wall treatments, so much beige). I'm sure all of their furnishings are high quality, but the interior doesn't seem to have much flavor, flow, or any cohesive style . . . a shabby chic pink dining room and then an Art Deco brick red sitting room?
