Generally I'm not a fan of oceanic/nautical-themed décor — and definitely not themed rooms — but there's something about this Handmade Crab Pillow ($52) that I'm really finding charming. I suppose if you're going to have critters "roaming" around your house, they might as well be stuffed! Yea or nay?

I spotted these goldfish-filled Halve Bookends ($60) on PointClickHome, and was amused by the way they'd been styled for the photo shoot. Of course, you can fill these glass pieces with anything you want, from stones to fresh cut flowers, but I have to say, I prefer the goldfish.

The shape of Belgian designer Gaëtan Van de Wyer's Bulb Chair (price available upon request) reminds me of a Dr. Seuss illustration. It's made of eco-friendly materials like rattan and water hyacinth, and eliminates the need for a reading light, since one is built right into the chair.

I spotted this dining room photo in Tria Giovan's portfolio, and was immediately struck by the high-intensity contrasts in color in the room. From the bright yellow and orange chairs to the hot pink and lime green chandelier, it definitely comes on strong. But is it too boldly colorful for your tastes?

I'm not a huge fan of overly cutesy Valentine's Day furniture and accessories, so I was surprised by how much I like this Jardin Table and Two Chairs ($249). It has such a great old-timey ice cream parlor vibe, and the heart design on the chair back is just subtle enough to be noticed while not drawing too much attention to itself.

New York-based design house Lost City makes these hand-embroidered Forensics Pillows ($308-324), inspired by the study of crime scene evidence. I could definitely see them in the coveted crib of Dexter Morgan, but there's no way I'd ever put them in my home. How about you?

This German-designed coatstand recently caught my eye, but since I couldn't read the copy, I turned to my German husband to translate the text:
Since David O. doesn't just trump us with his stool made of inflatable swimming wings, here we have another design from the young designer from Cologne. He thinks it would be a waste to just place sod shovels (pitchforks) in the garden.

I like the concept of this Felted Stone Lumbar Pillow ($198) by South African textile designer Ronel Jordaan. It has the look of hard stone, but the cushy comfort of any other wool pillow. And, the felt succulents sticking out from between the stones add another charming, nature-inspired element.

When the Keep Calm and Carry On posters first hit the design blogosphere a few years ago, I admit that I loved them. While I still admire the message, I'm a little tired of seeing it everywhere!
However, if you can't get enough of it, you can buy the CB2 Keep Calm and Carry On Rug ($199).

In an Apartment Therapy house tour, I spotted this deep brownish-gray kitchen. While it certainly works with the aesthetic of the artsy, industrial loft, I don't think it would work for me! I'm too much of a color fanatic to go with a shade this dark in my kitchen.
