If I had my druthers, I probably wouldn't choose to live in a studio. But if I had to, I cannot imagine a more perfect space than this studio loft in Lägenhet, Stockholm (which is for sale). With tall ceilings, a bed and extra storage are tucked up high, making for a true living room.

Graduate student and bartender Magnolia found her dream rental in San Francisco's Mission district — a two-bedroom cottage on a quiet side street that was surrounded by trees. Unfortunately, Maggie's room was only slightly bigger than a walk-in closet, at six feet wide by nine feet long. Thanks to a carpenter friend, though, her room became adorably livable.

Justin Timberlake wasn't kidding around when he said Manhattan is the greatest city in the world. He's such a great admirer of the city that he decided to buy his own little slice of the Big Apple. According to Real Estalker, Timberlake recently purchased a 3,000-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bath loft home in Tribeca for $4.774 million.

Of the three main characters on Lipstick Jungle, Brook Shields's character Wendy Healy is my favorite. A movie exec with two kids and a gorgeous husband, Wendy's bohemian and relaxed loft apartment is the perfect hideaway from her busy work life. Mixing traditional and modern elements, the loft is a great example of how to make a variety of disparate pieces work in a space.

For some, dealing with a space that serves as both a living and working area can be difficult, and the presence of "work" can add clutter. But for one painter-sculptor, whose home was featured in New York magazine's "A DIY Artist Loft in Hell's Kitchen," that work is his home's greatest treasure — that is, along with his creative force, which overcame shag carpeting and '70s paneling with DIY tactics. Be sure to read the article and check out this slideshow for a tour.

According to Big Time, Scarlett Johansson has sold her 1,300-square-foot duplex loft in Manhattan's Tribeca neighborhood for nearly $1.89 million. The starlet purchased the unit for nearly $1.95 million in January of 2006, meaning she took a loss on this sale, perhaps thanks to the looming housing crisis. But, a loss of $52,000 is uncommon in Manhattan, if not everywhere, so perhaps next time Johansson should hire a more experienced broker.

What started as the headquarters for the National Biscuit Company (better known as Nabisco) was recently renovated into loft living for design-savvy LA residents. The Biscuit Company Lofts, which range in size from 600 to 6,500 square feet, feature high ceilings, hardwood floors, industrial features, and exposed beamwork, as well as landscaped gardens and a swimming pool.

This Old House recently gave readers a peek into a challenging loft remodel for a Manhattan family. Some of the obstacles that Sara Lopergolo, Ed Wood, and their kids faced during their loft renovation included maneuvering building materials through street repairs, hauling materials and debris up stairs due to the building's lack of elevator, and a lengthy construction process. While the family says that next time they won't try to live in the space while it's being renovated, the upgrades made it all worthwhile.

Since I've been drooling over these photos that Kayamate recently posted in the Su Casa group, I figured it was only fair to let you in on this lovely example of loft living. (Want to share your photos? Here's how to post in the group.)
What I love about today's Su Casa is that Kayamate's first home does away with the usual hard edges of loft living.

In this 700-square-foot Tribeca loft designed by Ghislaine Viñas, precision and simplicity rule the roost, along with one particular: pink. The owner, a life-long pink enthusiast, wanted to give her family home some personality with her beloved bright pink and magenta hues. So the focus of the living room is this bright '70s-style corner sectional, and white and light oak give the space lightness and a neutral background to tame the vibrancy of the furnishings.
