Crave Worthy: Sablés Bookends

I haven't seen an interesting pair of bookends in ages. In fact, I've never written about them here. Now is the time. I'm aching for the Sophie Nova Sablés Bookends ($155), which are made of sand (sable in French) and Italian lambskin. They're available in a variety of hues and leathers, but I'd be happy to own this pink-gold set; they'd look so fab holding up my collection of design books. They also remind me of the bags used for the Midwestern lawn game, Cornhole. But, I think $155 is a bit of a splurge for a bag of sand. Perhaps I'll try DIY-ing this one. What do you think?

Crave Worthy: Cotswold Chair

You were understandably enthusiastic about the aptly named Lady Chair. However, I have a hard time imagining those of you who cohabitate with a manly man getting even the smallest, riveted corner of the Lady Chair in your door. If that's the case, then I present you with a testosterone-friendly option: the Cotswald Chair ($1,998) from Anthropologie. With a wide seat, leather whose coloring is described as "bourbon," (it doesn't get much more manly than bourbon), and a mahogany finish, this is a chair that even the most furniture-apathetic man can get enthusiastic about.

Casa Query: Have You Lived With a Leather Couch?

There are some leather couches that are simply stunning and there are others that should stay in the frat house. I once lived in a house right out of college that had two separate leather couches (which were owned by two rather frat-like dudes). Those were definitely not crave worthy, and I have a feeling that some of you ladies have had to live with men who refused to give up their "cool" leather couches.

So tell me, have you had to live with a leather couch that didn't strike your fancy? Have you ever had a boyfriend or brother who was fixated on an ugly leather monstrosity? Tell me about it by leaving a comment below!

Love It or Hate It? Leather Rhinoceros

Growing up, a few of my parents' British ex-pat friends had leather animal footstools in their living rooms, so I have a nostalgic attachment to this Leather Rhinoceros (inquire for price). The stools were first sold at Liberty's in London in 1927 and have been popular in England ever since. Some of us with eclectic tastes applaud their quirky British style, but I understand that they're a little wacky for most.

Home Away From Home: A Skate-Inspired Hotel Suite

Skateboard label Etnies is rolling into the world of hospitality. The California-based brand has designed a skate-inspired hotel suite in Laguna Beach's Casa del Camino. But you won't find any Etnies logo monogrammed sheets here. "We didn’t want to make it look like a trade show," said VP of marketing Don Brown. "We focused more on the culture of skateboarding, taking the movement, curves and shapes and injecting that into the design."

Elements include wheel tracks on the ceiling, a mirror framed with skateboard wheels, mounted skateboards for guests to use, and "Go Sk8" artwork in the bathroom. My favorite piece is the God Father Lounge Chair, a leather chair and ottoman inspired by Eames's iconic Lounge Chair, made of pieces which remarkably resemble a skateboard deck. Just in time for Color Theory month, Hvenbnd needs your help in choosing colors for her home! Read on to find out what she's looking for. Hi CasaSugar Readers,

I need your help ASAP! I recently experienced some water damage to my 1942 custom bungalow. As a result the wonderful insurance company has come through and has agreed to re-install new hardwood floors in my dining room and living room, paint the entire kitchen (including cabinets) laundry room, dining room, living room and to install a new kitchen floor.

My problem is choosing paint color for my rooms! I am so overwhelmed with all the options I have been researching. We are eclectic in our tastes, and have mixed antiques and modern midcentury pieces in our home. I collect Shag prints, which are bold and bright with lots of oranges and greens. I also collect tikis but hate the beachy thing. My husband is an airbrush artist and tends toward bold deep color.

Now, the house: We have 8 foot ceilings in the living area and dining area with coved ceilings and curved walls. I am installing recessed lighting in all three rooms. The red kitchen island that sits in the dining room in the pictures obviously belongs in the kitchen and will be painted as well. The house has lots of nooks and crannies and built in cabinets and bookcases. Can you help me pick some amazing paint colors? I will post the finished result for your viewing pleasure!

P.S. I am looking for a chesterfield sofa for the living room in what I envision to be olive green leather. Any ideas?

Found It! Gossip Girl Diamond Nailhead Folding Screen

In last night's episode of Gossip Girl, I couldn't take my eyes off of the diamond-pattern nailhead folding screen that Serena stands in front of. It's gorgeous, isn't it? It's the Faux Leather Divider ($379.99) in black with nailhead triple diamond outlines.

I'm also really loving the Four-Panel Full House Room Divider ($379.99), which is very similar. It's ivory instead of black and has an overlapping-squares pattern instead of diamonds.
