How to Make Garden Lanterns or German Lampions

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member Funkytime from the Su Casa group: Have you ever heard of lampions? Well, it's the same as lanterns, only that I didn't really find anything when I searched on Google. In Germany we say lampion, and everywhere else in the world we say lantern I guess. This is a beautiful, inexpensive décor for any kind of party, even a wedding or just a simple Read more

Deck the Haus: Ikea Decoration Round-Up

I noticed a handful full of wintry decorations at Ikea that I adored, and couldn't choose just one for a Nice and New, so I chose four! I like the minimalist quality to this wheat Ikea Isig Wreath ($20). It kind of says, "Fine. I guess I'll celebrate the holidays. But only if I can eek out my festivity and save my decorations for next year, so I don't have to think about it again." These Ikea Read more

Nice and New: West Elm Art Glass Lanterns

These Art Glass Lanterns ($9–$29, on sale $9–$24) are new at West Elm, and I'm totally swooning over them. I love their shapely figures, and how West Elm has filled them with simples stones to hold glowing tea lights in place. They're gorgeous hanging from the birch branch in the photo, but I'm not sure how I would hang them indoors. Any suggestions? Read more

Blake Lively in White Chanel Dress at Green Lantern Premiere

Her curvaceous, long-legged figure hidden demurely under a white Chanel Spring 2009 couture gown, Blake Lively made a beautiful, if innocent, appearance on the red carpet at last night's Green Lantern premiere in Hollywood. Green Lantern Review Starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

It's a bad sign when the opening sequence of a movie not only fails to grab your attention, but has your eyelids drooping before you even meet the main character. Such is the case for Green Lantern, and the frustratingly dull first few minutes set the tone for rest of the film, which is based on the popular comic book series. Ryan Reynolds is the actor throwing his hat into the superhero ring Read more
