I'm sorry to say this, Mr. Bolster, but you have little functional value, aside from aesthetics and an elbow rest every now and then. So I have a hard time dropping big bucks on you. However, if you're outfitted with a cool honeycomb pattern, a handsome espresso color, and if you don't break the bank like Monsieur West Elm Honeycomb Print Bolster ($19.99) then I'll gladly snatch two of you up. Just don't let it go to your head or anything because, after all, you are just a pillow.

Coolest Idea: Honeycomb Vase

Tomás Gabzdil Libertiny did not make this vase. He "collaborated" with an army of 40,000 bees to make it. Instead of using a traditional artificial beehive, Libertiny designed a vase-shaped mold for a beehive, and gave his busy bees one week to work their sweet magic. The process, which he calls "slow protyping," pushes the boundaries of conventional design and completely reinvents something which has forever been man-made. I think my excitement over honeycomb has reached its maximum; it cannot get any better than this.

Crave Worthy: Black and White Lacquered Bone Chest

If I hadn't drilled it in with my recent Steal of the Day that I'm gaga for hexagons, you should know that I'm irrationally enthusiastic about this Paul Marra Black and White Lacquered Bone Chest ($5,200). Add my love of anything high gloss, the unusual skeleton-key fastening, and the trendy black and white elegance of this chest, and you can safely say that I've been swept off my feet. I guess I'm hooked on honeycomb.

Steal of the Day: The Company Store Honeycomb Rug

I may be biased because I grew up with a beekeeper father who wore a full-body bee suit and churned out bear-shaped jars of honey, but I'm sweet on the hexagonal pattern of honeycomb. If you had chicken-coop wire window and picked up this Company Store Honeycomb Rug ($58.99 - $256.99), I might just have to sting you out of jealousy. I'd caution against purchasing the 8-x-10 size though, the bold pattern and colors might overpower your room, giving you a buzzing headache.

Would You Add a Beehive to Your Home?

I grew up with beehives in the backyard, since my dad's a beekeeper. I rarely was stung (perhaps twice in my entire childhood), and always had delicious honeycomb and honey to snack on. While I don't have a beehive in my home now, I've been considering adding one for some time.

DIY: Floral Foam Vase

If you read Casa regularly, you've probably noticed that people are making vases out of almost anything these days (pipes, plastic bottles, honeycomb, light bulbs). Quite frankly, a makeshift vase (coffee can, glass bottle) is not the hardest DIY. But, when I came across a DIY from ReadyMade for a vase made from floral foam that was cheap, easy, and most importantly, water retaining, I was pretty impressed. You'll probably find most of the supplies needed for this project in your house, too; who can argue with that?
Supplies:

Floral foam
Wax pellets or standard white candles
Baking paper
Cookie sheet
Toothpicks
Long, sharp knife
Cookie cutter or jar lid
Double boiler
Coffee can, slightly flattened to form a spout
Aluminum foil

To learn the steps, read more.

Draw half of an outline of a vase on a sheet of paper folded in half. Cut out the shape, and unfold so that you have a template for a vase shape.
Align your vase template with the base of your floral foam block.
Trace the shape of the vase with a toothpick onto both sides of the block.
Place the foam block flat on a table. Using the knife, cut out the traced shape, keeping the knife vertical.
Then, flip it over, and shave the edges smooth with the knife to make it clean looking and vase-like.
Using cookie cutters or jar lids, press a pattern into the foam (if you want one).
Fill your double boiler with water, and heat it up.
Put the wax/candles in your coffee can, and melt them.
Put a sheet of foil over your cookie sheet.
Put your vase upside down on the sheet, and pour the hot wax over it completely coating.
Stand it right side up, and slice off the top so that the foam is uncoated where you'll stick the flowers in.
Let it cool for an hour.
Soak the floral foam vase in water for an hour, and then stick your flowers into the top of the foam, making an arrangement as you wish. If the vase dries out, just run water over the top and it will soak it up.

What You're Wanting: The Entry

Weird Furniture: Kraft Paper Softseating
