Do You Have Window Boxes on All Floors?

Homeowners (and renters as well) tend to only install window boxes on the first floor of their houses. But I love the way the boxes of geraniums on this four-story white building look. On second thought, they're almost too healthy looking; they may be fake, and perhaps it wouldn't work on a more traditional house. Tell me, do you have window boxes on all floors?

This photo, from David Giles's portfolio, is breathtakingly pretty. From the baby blue cooking range to the precious mama and babe, it just speaks of domestic bliss. But my favorite idea from the photo is, by far, the idea of using old enamel coffee pots to display fresh cut flowers.

Enamel cookware is pretty enough on its own, but contrasted with some bright flowers, it looks even better. You can buy one new, but for the prettiest vintage finds, check your local flea market or eBay for the old and beautiful.

For the price of one bouquet, this trick will give your arrangement the visual presence of two. It helps to have a stunning bouquet like this one, but this two-for-one tip doesn't discriminate. A mirror, my friend, is a wonderful thing - especially when it's a "skinny" mirror.
