She's Out of My League, out today starring Jay Baruchel, looks über-cute - like one of those predictable romantic comedies I can't resist. While it may not be winning an Oscar next year, it certainly deserves applause for the set design. I would totally move right into this living room. But better yet, it doesn't look very hard to recreate. This sort of minimalism is something I strive for, but I enjoy shopping for accessories too much to ever make it work. I love how the graphic wallpaper, cherry blossom branches, and interesting coffee table catchall bowl add a more intricate, girlish element to the streamlined, masculine furniture. With silverish gray and sandy browns, and a little bit of pink, the palette is perfect, too. Want to see some products that will help you get the look of this stylish room?

I am beyond excited for Jonathan Parker's new satirical indie comedy (Untitled), about a brooding avant-garde composer who falls for a trendy NYC gallerist, which stars Adam Goldberg and Marley Shelton - watch the trailer here. Seeing as the plot is set in the quirky world of contemporary art and music, it's no surprise that there's lots of modern design to drool over. Get the Look: Amelie's Bedroom

Amélie Poulain took not only France but the world by storm. We were all swept away by her quirky French je ne sais quoi, awkward naïveté, and childlike demeanor. Of course, the movie Amélie also made an impression from an artistic standpoint. From the scenery and the tunes to the coloring and the editing, I was encapsulated in Amélie's fantastical world in every sense. The sets, particularly her apartment, were as captivating as the innocent girl, and I've always been intrigued by her bedroom. So, when a Su Casa member inquired about her comforter, I decided I'd attempt to show you how to get the look of the room. To hear my thoughts, read more.

To begin, you must set the stage with a metallic rouge wallpaper like Amelie's, and paint your wainscoting to match. The Graham & Brown Serenity Wallpaper ($60/bolt) shares a gold-on-red pattern with Oriental charm and a delicate, starry design.

You can find her prints by Michael Sowa, the Fowl With Pearls ($14.99) and Filmhound ($14.99), at Art.com, and have them hung in unmatching frames for the same peculiar, offbeat look.

As for the comforter, which Su Casa member eunyee9 asked about, I couldn't track the exact design. But, I think the Dream Silk Comforter ($349), with its peachy champagne color, interesting quilting pattern, and plush heft is a good match. Open House: Your Thoughts on Home Theaters

Home theaters have almost become a requisite for Americans building mega-McMansions, and they're quite common in the homes of the Hollywood elite. Personally, I just find them excessive. And since going to the theater is one of my favorite pastimes, I'd never give up popcorn and Slurpees in favor of a leather La-Z-Boy, even if ticket prices are well above $10 these days. Woody Allen, on the other hand, favors the home theater. When recently asked by New York magazine if he still goes to the movies, he said, "I don’t, because I have this [gesturing to the screening room], and so it’s much easier for me to call up and say, 'Can I get a print of The Women sent over here?' and I can just come in here with a couple of friends on a Saturday night and see it." What are your thoughts? Would you have a home theater built if you could afford to?

Crave Worthy: French Blow-Up Poster

OK, I may have had an irrational love for the 1966 Michelangelo Antonioni film Blow-Up (starring Vanessa Redgrave, Sarah Miles, and David Hemmings) since I was in the womb, but I am not alone in my love for the mod Brit film's killer poster. It often tops lists of the world's greatest and most iconic posters (see here and here), written by cinephiles and design fiends alike, and for good reason. The original 1966 Italian design is the one most fawned over, but there are actually several variations, almost all featuring a sexy model and her photographer. I for one have a soft spot for the French poster, designed by Georges Kerfyser, which is a variation of the original by its Southeastern neighbor. The design is confrontational, racy, and mod in a kitschy magenta and blue color scheme; what could be better? Those adjectives sound so tawdry, but I'd honestly kill to hang the eye-catcher in my house: if only it didn't sell for 450 smackers. If you haven't seen the film, Netflix it, and maybe then you'll begin to understand where I'm coming from.
