Etsy seller Love, California was born and bred in Texas, and she's got the pillows to prove it. She makes charming wool-blend felt pillows bearing an icon of the Lone Star State, the cactus. Her Cactus With White Blooms Pillow ($125) is entirely hand-stitched in the shape of a cactus, while the Cactus Topiary Felt Pillow ($60) is square and hand-stitched with a colorful cactus appliqué.

Throwing a successful dinner party is already enough of a hassle without your tablecloth slipping off of the table. You've somehow spent 10 minutes assuring yourself that your linens drape equally to the floor. You set the table, serve your feast, and realize that one side resembles a miniskirt sported by Britney Spears.

I don't know what it is about butterflies lately, but they've had my heart all aflutter. The cutout butterflies on the Mixko Delight Belle Light ($49, reduced from $83) are quite dainty and appeal to the side of me that secretly loves pink, unicorns, and party dresses. And I love how the light just seems to peek through its skirted edge.

If the fleeting beauty of a fresh floral bouquet isn't what you had in mind for your wedding or other celebration, you're in luck. Etsy seller Princess Lasertron makes custom bouquets from hand-stitched felt and vintage buttons that will last well beyond your ceremony, and perhaps your five-year anniversary. But you needn't be tying the knot to take one home.

Whether you use it to stash keys or as a clever cozy for a four-inch planter, this Turquoise and Grey Felted Wool Bowl ($34) will add a splash of craft and color to your home. Hand crocheted with wool in charcoal grey with a bright turquoise base and band, this bowl is wet felted, dried around a mold to create its shape, and then steam blocked. Seller Papaververt recommends wrapping the plant's base in a plastic bag before setting it in the felted bowl, to assure that the planter won't leak onto the wool.

These adorable Branch Home felted birds ($18 for 2) can be used for holiday decor, and would also fit in well in other decorating schemes for parties throughout the year. Made of eco-certified felt and satin ribbon, they come in sets of two, in either red and white or two green birds. These would look great hanging from a centerpiece over a dining table, or strung across a mantel.

Since my husband and I inherited a gorgeous table from his mother, we always use placemats to keep hot foods or condensation-laden glasses away from its wood surface. With other tables, I haven't been as careful, and even think that a few water stains added to the charm of the older, imperfect tables. Still, for our current table, I like to take precaution.
