Nice and New: Klaus Rosburg Cuckoo Clock

I'm not quite sure if I'm sick of the cuckoo clock trend or not, but I must admit I like the Klaus Rosburg Cuckoo Clock ($95). While there's been a proliferation of die-cut mirrors, something about the mirrored silhouette shape of a cuckoo clock against this exposed brick wall caught my eye. The ornate, three-dimensional design of traditional cuckoo clocks gives them a lively, kitschy feel, but seeing one in silhouette form made me appreciate them in a whole new way. This clock may not have a (sometimes obnoxious) bird popping out of its façade on the hour, but its interesting curves and
shapes are enough to make me chirp. What do you think? Are you a fan?

Love It or Hate It? Recycled Rubber Coasters

When I lived on the East Coast, I always felt like "West Coasters" were the people who felt obliged to let their coastal origins be known. But, I suppose that's not entirely true; these Recycled Rubber Coasters ($38) were made in Maine. I still don't support this East/West superiority complex that some people have. But you know I always love a good pun, so these coasters get by in my book. What do you think?

Your Favorite Online Boutique

As part of our Best of 2007 polls, you chose Elsewares as your favorite online boutique. I have to agree that Elsewares has some lovely homewares, including this lumen, which I've kind of fallen in love with. One of my other fave online boutiques, Rose and Radish, has a physical store here in San Francisco, so if you get the chance to visit our, fair city by the bay, be sure to stop in and check it out!
