FiFi's Fragrances Attract the PYTs

We're sad to see our favorite TV shows head to hiatus for another Summer, but luckily the stars of the small screen are still coming out to play in Hollywood. Last night Alyson Hannigan, Minka Kelly, and Taylor Momsen got dolled up for the 36th Annual FiFi Awards in NYC. The ladies helped honor the night's big winners, which included Daisy Marc Jacobs and Intimately Beckham Women. We can see that they looked gorgeous in their springtime dresses, and something tells us that the lovely ladies smelled just as sweet.

Brooke, Kim & Lindsay Make Fashion Week a Lipstick Jungle

Lipstick Jungle is taking full advantage of their timing, piggybacking all sorts of parties and events with the beginning of Fashion Week in New York. Last night all the ladies of the show - Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price - were out for the big premiere party and this morning they used the oversized scissors to cut the ribbon officially kicking off the week alongside show creator Candace Bushnell. Sure this show is more than a little hard to distinguish from Cashmere Mafia but thankfully Buzz is here to help us keep them separate. Plus, we'll take any new TV we can get these days. So anyone excited to see yet another group of well dressed Manhattan women on primetime starting Feb 7...or are you over it?

Hayden Panettiere Loves Her Some Shoes

On the Heroes set, Hayden Panettiere spends most of her time in a cheerleading uniform, but what does she like to wear when it's up to her to choose? She sat down for the February Lucky cover and spilled on her favorite color - "bright, exotic, greenish blue," her favorite brands, and more, all while trying on every single pair of shoes on-set at the LA photoshoot. On being a shoe girl: "I'm kind of obsessive about really stunning heels. I get excited even taking the elevator up to the shoe floor at Bergdorf's . . . I'm short, so I'm always on the hunt for cute shoes with a little extra height."
On her style: "Right now my style is very frenetic. It seriously changes as quickly as my mood. . . . I've only recently been able to try out a bunch of different styles without feeling like I'm dressing beyond my age."

Adrian, Richard, Heath and Elle Were There Last Night

All sorts of on screen Bob Dylans (but not the man himself) came out for a screening of I'm Not There in NYC last night. Three of the movie's Bobs - Richard Gere, Heath Ledger and Marcus Carl Franklin - met up on the red carpet, while Adrian Grenier just paid homage to the iconic artist with his big hair. Elle Macpherson looked like a rock star herself with her hot leather jacket. As for Julianne Moore, I'm just happy she's a redhead again. Check back at the end of the week to see what Buzz thinks about I'm Not There - at this point I think it looks like it could be either awesome or terrible but probably nothing in between, you?

Small Talk with Ilan Hall

Last week our very own FabSugar had the opportunity to chat with Top Chef Season Two winner, Ilan Hall. They were both backstage at the Cynthia Rowley Spring 2008 show - Fab reporting on the looks, and Ilan feeding the masses. Luckily for us, they were both able to take a few minutes from their jobs and provide us with a fun interview.

FabSugar: What did you have for breakfast?
Ilan Hall: I think I had baked chicken skin.

FS: Baked chicken skin?
IH: Yeah, because it's part of one of the dishes, and so I was just tasting it. That's what I got full on.

FS: Any juice or coffee?
IH: I had coffee, lots of coffee.

FS: A successful party is ....
IH: One that you get woken up from on the floor... I don't know.

FS: What's your guilty pleasure food?
IH: Pork skin.

FS: All of the skins!
IH: I know, I know, I've got a fetish.

FS: Do you cook at home, or do you tend to eat out?
IH: I eat out most of the time, but once in a while.

FS: When you do cook at home, what are your favorites?
IH: I like roasting fish. I like roasting chickens. I like, um.. I like making french fries. That's my favorite when you get a beautiful, perfect crispy french fry. To make a really good french fry, it takes a long time. There's a lot of care that goes into it.

FS: So what's your favorite kind of french fry? Steak fries? Curly fries?
IH: Steak fries, traditional.

FS: If we opened up your fridge, we would find...
IH: Nothing, I'm homeless right now.

New York Fashion Week, Spring 2008: Cynthia Rowley

A Fab favorite for years, Cynthia Rowley’s feminine and artsy aesthetic took a French turn for Spring. Presented in mid-town’s gorgeous circular Gotham Hall, hand-painted cruiser bikes sat on either sides of the runway - at the end of the show models, and Cynthia, rode off for the grand finale!

Called “Le Sportif,” these dames were sporty and sophisticated, but still happy-go-lucky Rowley girls. With an “ice cream” color palette (her words, more on my exclusive interview with her below!), Rowley went sporty and lux with long, flowing shapes and details like pockets, drawstrings and dropped hemlines. There was also color blocking – this is one designer who knows her colors – and obscure knotting and draping treatments. A few nautical numbers were fabulously whimsical and a funky looped ribbon fringe poked fun. The toppers were cat’s eye shades and statement necklaces.

Yours truly was lucky enough to steal Cynthia to pick her fashionable brain. She was glowing in a cobalt blue frock from her Resort collection and her adorable wee daughters were bopping around backstage.

Let's talk inspiration...
It's called "Le Sportif" and is a reaction to all the short baby doll dresses we've been wearing and I wanted to go in a new direction. Everything is long and lean, tailored, lots of trousers and modern, sporty elements; sporty backs, ventilation holes, pockets. Color is more subtle - camel, navy, traditional athletic colors.

One favorite piece from the collection?
I can't choose! The high waisted pants, which are all rolled up and comfy. And one of the sweaters.

What kind of woman is the Cynthia Rowley woman?
Artistic, fun and sporty, not afraid to experiment and feminine and sexy!

A wardrobe staple every woman should have?
A really great handbag; because you carry it with you everywhere - a great investment piece.

Coming Soon: Cynthia Rowley for Avon

Taking a cue from Proenza Schouler's lipstick for Lancome, Cynthia Rowley is about to launch a limited-edition line of cosmetics with Avon. Standouts include a blush stick ($8), nail enamel ($4), lip gloss ($4.50) and finishing powder ($10). The products aren't ready for purchase yet, but you can sign up for a reminder e-mail at Avon.com.

I know some of you think Avon is corny, but it seems as though the company is working to shed that perception. By bringing Reese Witherspoon on as a "brand ambassador" and working with Cynthia Rowley, it's bound to draw new customers. What do you think? Is this a budget-friendly hit, or a dorky miss?

Kim Cattrall and Pals Heat Things Up In The Kitchen

About a month ago, there was a hot new oven popping up all over the blogs. The oven, which is called the TurboChef Speed Oven, is a "high performance" oven that is a ridiculously fast oven that prepares meals 15 times faster than normal ovens. It's already in use in quick service restaurants (like Subway) but now you can take the oven into your own home. Price you'll have to pay to cook a properly roasted lamb in six minutes? Try around $8000.

To celebrate the launch of the TurboChef oven, Chicago's famed chef Charlie Trotter and his new pals - Kim Cattrall (hrmm... I have a hard time seeing Samantha cooking let alone endorsing an oven...), Cynthia Rowley, Ted Allen (who, in other news, has signed on to do more episodes of Top Chef), and chef Alan Wyse - were on hand to whip up a meal and have fun in the kitchen.
