Check Out Our Casa Flip and Design to Win Your Own!

On Friday we introduced you to our exciting Design and Win Flip HD Mino contest, and now here's one we designed to help give you some inspiration. You all know how much we love pretty patterns, so what better way to decorate the video camera than with the cool pattern generator that lets you play with colors and a variety of shapes and lines? Check out our design here and get started on creating your own. You can also upload your own personal images or use other suggested designs.

To refresh your memory, all you have to do is go to the site, design your own Flip with a photo or design of your choice, and email it in to us at flipcontest@sugarinc.com! The next few weeks we'll be showing you cameras designed by our different editors to get the ball rolling. The contest runs from Dec. 12-26, with the finalists posted on geeksugar Dec. 29, and the winners will be announced Dec. 31. It's the perfect way to kick off 2009 with a brand new toy to document all your adventures.

Where's Your Summer Style?

It seems as if a few readers are confused as to what they need to do to enter my Summer Style Contest. Since I know you'd all love to win one of the two $500 Crate and Barrel gift certificates I'm giving away, I thought I'd remind you that you need to send in photos of your home's Summer style to qualify to win. You only need to send in one photo, and it can be sent to my TeamSugar inbox, or to the Su Casa group. And you only need one photo to enter!

For instance, here's a photo that would work as an entry. This photo is from the fantastic bridal shower that my sister threw for me this past weekend. She pimped out my backyard with cute tables, brightly striped throw rugs, and cool retro wooden chairs.

If you're interested in entering this contest, start by snapping photos of your house. To enter, you must log in and post photos of your home, along with a short description of your home's summer style. If you're not already a TeamSugar member, just register here for an account. Then, submit photos to either the Su Casa group or by private messaging me. Contest ends Friday, August 8, at noon (PDT), and is only open to US readers. Click here for official rules.

To join the Su Casa group, just follow this link and click "subscribe" beneath the photo on the left-hand side of the page. Once you're subscribed, click Share in the upper left-hand menu of any TeamSugar page and choose what type of post you want to create. If you have just one photo and some text, create a blog; if you have a gallery you want to share, select "photos."

TeamSugar has a great primer on how to create a blog post, so check that out if you've never posted one before. Here's a rundown of the basic process:

Add a Title and the Body (content for your post). Don't forget to click Check Spelling link and Upload an Image to make your post stand out!
Post this to a group? Click on the dropdown menu and select the Su Casa group. You will only be able to see groups you're subscribed to, so if you haven't joined Su Casa yet, you will need to.
Click on the dropdown menu and choose the Home and Garden Channel and add some keywords (use a comma, if needed!) in the Tags text box. Then click "I'm done" to view your post!
