Jul 17 2009 - 9:00am Now that Chace Crawford has
moved out of the Chelsea apartment he shared with Gossip Girl costar Ed Westwick, he's on to bigger and better things. The place he now calls home is
a penthouse rental in the hip and exclusive Financial District building
Dwell95, which was outfitted head-to-toe by French superstar designer
Philippe Starck. The urban sanctuary is part of the
yoo by Starck international development project and houses studios, lofts, and one and two bedrooms in two styles: "classic" and "nature."

I looked at those units. They look great, but when you touch anything you realize how CHEAP everything they used was. Shame on Starck!
1Really!? That's interesting. Thanks for the info.
2still a very cool looking place.. shame if thats true-
3eh...I like some of the effects, but overall not a fan. I HATE the bathrooms.
4Casa, I wish I sent you this Us Wkly story instead of that speculative one about SJP in Prospect Park West!!
So I used to live in 95 Wall St aka Yoo Dwell (moved out first wk of June) but I lived there for 8 months and I overall enjoyed it but my time there was enough and I'll get to that in a bit.
I dont know what the first anonymous poster was talking about but I lived in the floor plan that had the darker wood which was overall nice and their appliances (the washer/dryer in unit and door handles for example) and whatnot are def NOT cheap... their heating/cooling units SUCK though. A Swarovski crystal chandelier in the LR is not cheap either, lol! I saw the "nature" apartments as well and wasnt impressed by that lighter finish. What she might be talking about actually is in the model units they use Starck furniture as you see in the photos... so the marble looking round table... the clear plastic chair... and I know he designed it and is renowned but, to me, THAT LOOKS CHEAP. Oh and another crappy thing is that ppl have occupied the bldg since this time last year and to this day they still havent gotten consistent nice elevator cabins. Very delayed!
The bldg is filled with a lot of ppl my age (mid twenties) but there are some families and older couples. Def a youthful crowd overall but it was EXPENSIVE!! Like most of the young ppl there you have to have roommates (2-3 usually in addition to self) in order to make it affordable. So I had 3 roommates (4 total) and we got a huge 1 bedroom, signed a 2 yr lease in August 2008 with 2 months free rent so it's a 26 month lease. The 2 months free werent such a bargain because once we had to start paying in November,we realized how much $$$$ we were truly spending ... a monthly rental price of ...... get this.... $5120!! So our avg rent was $1250 and we scaled who paid what according to room size. Btw, another b*tch of living there aside from high rent is having to build walls for more $$$... Ugh!!!
All the amenities were pretty amazing (maybe least so being the gym because they didnt have machines I would have preferred) but free continental bfast every morning was a nice touch!! It's FiDi so a lot of bldgs down there are great... 10 Hanover Sq, 2 Gold Street (which has a 4 ft deep pool) to name the 2 other prominent ones.
We are in the process of reassigning our 2 yr lease over to 4 new ppl and basically left because 2 of the 4 of us lost our jobs. In retrospect, we were crazy to live there for that amount of money and so little space. The amenities are what sold me personally but couldnt keep me there. Even in these tough times theyre not scaling back on rent prices (our unit is now a higher price with more free months of rent) and it's the same price pretty much.
OK to finally relate to the story, I do wish Chace moved in a month and a half ago so I wouldve had a chance at a sighting!! My friend Brittany still lives in the bldg and shared an elevator with him this past week. Darn her!
Sorry this was so long!
5Also not cool, the music they play in the lobby and upstairs on the roof.. it's a total assault on the ears. I know hate John Legend because I've heard him so much.
Ok rant over!
6Interesting, nutella2683! Thanks for giving us the lowdown. Seems like a fun place to live even just short term!
7I moved there last month and I feel like I got it for a steal. They definitely scaled back the prices. Put it this way, a loft for a over $3k. I have two roommates but our rooms are definitely nicely sized.
