Stella McCartney's Brilliant Equestrian Chandelier Returns

We all know that Stella McCartney is an animal lover, but forgoing leather isn't the only way she shows it. McCartney created an astonishing crystal sculpture in the shape of a horse in 2004 for a fashion exhibit inside the Great Hall of Belsay Castle, an English Heritage castle in the UK, and it has returned for the Easter holiday. "Lucky Spot" was made from thousands of hanging crystals, and is truly a magnificent sight. McCartney was inspired to create it after visiting the medieval castle and its quarry gardens, and it is intended to be a response to George Stubbs's famous equestrian painting, Whistlejacket. If you find yourself on the other side of the pond, you can catch a glimpse of the equestrian masterpiece through Good Friday, April 10, at Belsay Castle. What You're Wanting: An Outdoor Dining Room For Adrian's Castle

As I recently shared with you, Adrian Brody and Spanish girlfriend Elsa Pataky are putting down roots in a stone castle-like house in upstate New York. The photos, which were splashed across the pages of Hello!, are pretty over the top with the lovey-dovey behavior between the two, but the building itself is fascinating.

While Giorgio Armani apparently designed the interiors, I figure that no castle is truly complete without a fit-for-a-king outdoor dining area. So, for the latest What You're Wanting, I want to know how you'd furnish, accessorize, and style an outdoor dining room for this home. Would you throw down some rugs? Use indoor furniture outdoors? Would you use curtains as a Moroccan-inspired tent?

The house is stunning, so I'm sure a basic picnic in the grass would still be glamorous, but AudreyStar really took the challenge and ran with it. Artist of the Day: Peter Callesen

Danish artist Peter Callesen creates jaw-droppingly intricate papercut artwork from A4 paper and in large-scale installations. Each work is created from one sheet of paper, be it three-dimensional flowers falling from a bouquet's negative, a hummingbird flying from the page, or a child-size castle crafted from a billboard-sized paper. He uses A4 because he says it is "probably the most common and consumed media used for carrying information today," but we "rarely notice the actual materiality" of it. There is a tragic quality to most of his subjects, whether it's a flower dying, an angel locked in a birdcage, or even an apple reduced to its core. So the frail and delicate paper medium underlines that element of calamity.

This Just In: Pinewood Studios to Become Gated Community

Britain's iconic Pinewood Studios, set on rural land surrounding London, is planning a 105-acre expansion, transforming the film studio into a gated community that will accommodate 2,000 to 2,250 residences. Since their creation in 1937, the studios have been used for nearly 1,500 movies, including Great Expectations, Dr. Strangelove, and Sweeney Todd. Their make-believe, fake-walled structures include "a Roman Coliseum, a medieval, moated castle, and several urban streetscapes that range from New York's Lower East Side, to Venice's canals, to suburban LA, to a quaint European village." The buildings on the outer rows of houses will be left for interior shoots, and filming will continue in the streets. So, CEO Ivan Dunleavy says, "It would be no different than if you were living on a New York street and you had a filmmaker filming outside your door." Space in the buildings will also accommodate shops, restaurants, gym, a performing arts venue (the Coliseum), a training center, and possibly even a school. The community will likely appeal to film-industry employees because of its live/work duality, but also regular citizens struggling with England's housing shortage. The expansion will also create more than 1,000 permanent jobs, and give Pinewood a competitive edge over studios in Hollywood and low-cost Eastern European countries. Designer Spotlight: Todhunter Earle Interiors

Todhunter Earle Interiors is a duet between Emily Todhunter and Kate Earle backed by two architectural designers, four interior designers, two accountants, and three product designers. Emily Todhunter began her career as a specialist painter, but launched her interior design career after being commissioned to design the New York nightclub Au Bar in 1988. After that, she became well known for designing hip London clubs and restaurants. She was joined by Kate Earle in 1998, who became partner, adding a new dimension to the company, and elevating it to more broadly-based design. Their client list includes Emilio Pucci, Moet and Chandon Bar, Sissinghurst Castle, Mansion Bel Air, a 37-m. sailing yacht, and a laundry list of London hotels and restaurants. They also have a collection of lighting, wallpaper, rugs, furniture, carpets, and fabrics. They tend to lean towards traditional designs with a muted palette. Not exactly what I would call inventive, but beautiful and tranquil nonetheless.

The Palette: Pastel tones galore, with a hint of silky shimmer. Coppola has said that the film's production design was keyed to the colors she found in a box of macaroons. Try whimsical floral wallpapers or curtains.

The Furniture: To pay homage to Marie’s man, a Louis XVI chair is a must. The Phillipe Starck Louis Ghost Chair ($365) is the epitome of baroque seating-revisited. This ornate Open Carved Headboard ($599) creates the perfect place to get your royal shut-eye, and it comes in queen size.

The Accents: Vinyl wall decal silhouettes ($11) of the “dauphin” and his wife are very appropriate, and are an updated form of the classic artwork. Place them directly on your wall, or frame them on a candy-colored background.

The Lighting: Light up the luxe with the Duffy London Glo-Canvas CHA-03 ($475), a stretched canvas printed with your very own chandelier. A candelabra is also a necessity for wandering through the east wing of your castle at night, but it’s the 21st century, so try a Lucite one ($65).
