DIY: A Tree Branch Jewelry Stand

The branches trend came onto the design scene almost two years ago, and it's still kicking. Su Casa member ckim8120, who is often inspired by nature, put her own spin on the trend by making a jewelry stand out of a tree branch she found outdoors. The only supplies the DIY requires are a tree branch, white spray paint, and newspaper. To learn the steps and see more photos, read more.

Here are the steps to the project, from ckim8120:

Find a large tree branch outside that has lots of offshoots.
Clean the branch to get rid of any dirt.
Decide where you will be putting your branch. If the branch is going to be laying down on a piece of furniture, you will have to break off some of the smaller branches so that the branch has stability.
Spray paint *I used 2 coats*.
After letting the branch dry, start hanging your jewelry!

DIY: Tree Branch Curtain Rod

This DIY tree branch curtain rod project doesn't seem like most original idea ever. But actually, I've never seen it done before; it looks rustic-chic; it achieves that branches trend; and it's super easy to pull off. Here are the steps, according to do-it-yourself:

Find a tree branch slightly wider than your window trim.
Use pruning shears to remove long twigs, but leave a few stubs for character.
Spray-paint the branch or leave it natural.
Choose tie-top curtain panels, which allow you to adjust for the curves of the branch-no clips or rings needed.

Fabworthy: Branches File Folders

These Branches File Folders, $9 for eight folders, make me want to throw out my boring manila folders at once! I know that any old folder can get the job done, but why settle for blah when you can have beautiful? I don't know about you, but the pretty pastel designs would definitely motivate me to open my folders more often. Wow, who knew style could encourage productivity?!

Trend Alert: Branches, Branches Everywhere

Since my mind's been on Fall, with its falling leaves and bare branches, I thought it was a great time to highlight some of my favorite finds with the branch trend. Found It! Michelle Branch's Rug

I haven't seen much of songstress Michelle Branch these days. But the Union Jack bathroom rug in her recently listed Nashville property is a familiar face. Although the lady is an Arizona native, she was named after the Beatles song "Michelle," which in my mind gives her ample right to adorn her home with a Brit flag. Michelle's rug is the VW Flag Rug (inquire for price) designed by English fashion designer Vivienne Westwood for the Rug Company. I must say it's a pretty fabulous design. I'm sure my girl FabSugarUK would agree with me!
