It can be terrifying to leave the children alone with a babysitter. Anything can happen, but sometimes parents go overboard with their helicopter parenting. It's time mom enjoyed her night out, and left her worries behind. Before heading out for a girls' night out, or a date night, see our list of necessary warnings, so mama can feel safer leaving her kids at home.

5 Things to Warn Your Babysitter About:

Ground Rules – Every family has some, especially when it comes to food, bedtime, and behavior. Kids will try to convince their babysitter otherwise, so be sure to make your stance clear.
Any Requests – Clearly state your expectations like bathing the kids, tidying up the kitchen after dinner, and not allowing any guests. These seem pretty obvious, but it's always better to communicate your requests rather than assume they will be followed.
Special Requirements – Beyond obvious health warnings like food allergies or prescribed medications, many children require certain attention. Let the sitter know what to expect, like if Tommy is still potty training or Susie needs a back rub to fall asleep.
Complicated Technology – This includes, but is not limited to, cable boxes, surround sound, microwaves, and security alarms. Provide simple, but detailed instructions so the babysitter does not run into any issues or reprogram your systems.
Contagious Illnesses or Changes in Plan – If your child is sick, be sure to call the babysitter to check and see if they are still comfortable babysitting. Your babysitter might resent you and refuse to babysit again if you aren't honest about contagious illnesses to which they will be exposed. Also, as a courtesy, be sure to call if you plan on getting in late.

Engaged? Congratulations! You're about to start your life as a married couple, and one of the advantages of getting married is getting to register for fabulous things to feather your nest with. But like many things that sound fun at first, it can also become overwhelming.

The Internet is your best friend in managing your registry. So much can be done online that you (almost) don't even have to set foot in a store to look at china patterns. Of course, you also need to know where to start, which is where this guide comes in.

First step: Deciding where to register.

These days, it seems like most couples are moving away from registering only at stores that have a lot of brick-and-mortar outposts because so many people are comfortable shopping online. It's also good if you don't know which store is convenient for most of your guests - but pretty much everyone has an Internet connection. The best places to register, in my opinion, have both physical stores (so you can see things in person) and online-accessible registries.
Some bigger stores that have both a physical presence and online registries are: Macy's, Crate and Barrel, Bloomingdale's, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Target, and CB2. For each, you can either go to the store and register there, and they'll set up your online registry simultaneously, or you can just set up the registry online.

Let's face it, moving might be the most stressful thing to do. Searching for apartments, like jobs, can be excruciating and disheartening, because you have to weed through hundreds that are too expensive or don't offer any amenities. The Internet has definitely made apartment searching an easier feat, but everything takes some navigating to do. We consider these five sites worthy of helping you track down your next home.

Padmapper – The site claims it's "making apartment hunting suck less," and if you ask me, it actually makes it fun. Compiling Craigslist, rent.com, and apartment.com listings, you can search for apartment listings by zip code or city and watch thousands of red balloon tags appear on a map, designating available apartments. Narrow your search by including your target price range, number of bedrooms and baths, and a dozen other personalized options.
4 Walls – While the site is limited to 24 cities around the US, it does offer clean page design and detailed rental information. Most listings include floor plan drawings, rent and deposit amounts, square footage, availability, and photos. You can even check out the Walk Score, to see what restaurants and business are walking distance from the building.

January Jones Is On the Go as Mad Men Gets Picked Up For a Fifth Season

January Jones picked up a few items at Bed Bath & Beyond in LA yesterday. She accessorized her striped sweater with a black Givenchy handbag, which was also recently spotted on the arm of Nicole Richie. January has been staying busy around town while she waits for a decision on the future of Mad Men after the season ended with a few surprises last year. It was just announced that the series will in fact, return for the fifth time, though we won't see Betty back on the air until 2012. We'll get our fill of January before then when she hits the big screen in X-Men: First Class, which is just one of the many sequels coming to theaters this year.
