I've always loved the look of a bench set at the foot of a bed. Not only is it a convenient place to sit and tie your shoes Mr. Rogers-style, but it's another place to add a bit of color and pattern if you choose an upholstered bench. They're also great if you have a small bedroom, because you can have seating without an entire designated sitting area.

As I've mentioned before, 500 Days of Summer is full of design eye candy. One of my favorite décor ideas siphoned from the film is Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character's chalkboard wall headboard. Chalkboard paint, as you know, is quite trendy these days in the interior design world.

This basketweave headboard is made from a type of leaf that is woven together. Can you guess what type of leaves are used to make this headboard? (Hint: think tropical.)

After I rearranged my bedroom recently, a friend of mine said with a wink, "Oh, so the mirror's facing the bed." I hadn't even thought about that arrangement until she called it out. While my boudoir is a bit too small to try to keep the bed out of full-length mirror's view, there are many couples who find it advantageous to "reflect" on events in this room.

The Thor Høy Spring Bed ($3,730), on the other hand, I wouldn't be ashamed to own. It's made of plywood and car springs with a slatted base, and the springs respond regardless of the firmness of your mattress.

On Monday, I told you how to Spring organize your bedroom, and one of you asked where you could find the bed featured in the stock photography image. I don't blame you: I love its hairpin-esque steel legs. So, I searched high and low for the bed.

Esquire magazine recently unveiled this year's Esquire house, a modern Los Angeles man-sion designed as the ultimate gentleman's pad. Though some of the features are a tad over-the-top (like the lime-green-lit tequila bar), there is plenty here to covet.
I especially love this idea from the bedroom: the bed's wooden footboard conceals a flatscreen TV (fig.

Pro skater Chad Knight has made his bed, and now he's gonna profit from it. His Shred Bed (inquire for price) features a headboard and footboard made of skateboards. It seems like skateboards are everywhere in the design world these days (see here and here).
