I am beyond excited for Jonathan Parker's new satirical indie comedy (Untitled), about a brooding avant-garde composer who falls for a trendy NYC gallerist, which stars Adam Goldberg and Marley Shelton - watch the trailer here. Seeing as the plot is set in the quirky world of contemporary art and music, it's no surprise that there's lots of modern design to drool over. The sets look downright hip and are full of furnishings that bridge the gap been art and décor. Many are also furnishings readily available to you! Love Your City? Say It With Art

Maybe it's just me, but I've always felt a sense of solidarity with the cities I've lived in and their inhabitants. That feeling - the loyalty, that pitter-patter, and an honest sense of pride - is something I want to share with people. I'm not talking about arguing over the perpetual West Coast vs. East Coast rift or sporting the I ♥ NY tee that Carrie Bradshaw turned ubiquitous. A single piece of nostalgic, metropolitan artwork will do the trick for me. Whether it's a poster, a vintage bus roll, or a cross stitch, something that simply says, "I love it here" is all I need. Live Art Lights Up London

Today "One & Other" - a living monument in Trafalgar Square, London - kicked off. Sculptor Anthony Gormley invited everyday people to occupy the empty Fourth Plinth in the square, a location usually reserved for statues of kings and generals. For 24 hours a day, for 100 days straight, different people will stand on the Plinth for an hour each in an image of themselves or as a representation of all of humanity.

The artist said: "this elevation of everyday life to the position formerly occupied by monumental art allows us to reflect on the diversity, vulnerability and particularity of the individual in contemporary society. It could be tragic but it could also be funny."

The first of the participants, who were chosen by random, took turns at the post today. Check out some of the living art!

Artist Tracey Emin: "It Was Always About Sex, Not Money"

Writers and artists in the “confessional” mode are often accused of being narcissistic and self-indulgent. This may be true for certain male memoirists like James Frey (A Million Little Pieces), but I think we so rarely get accounts of women’s real lives that, self-indulgent or not, I welcome art and writing by women that gives me a window into their experience. Take Tracey Emin, an English multimedia artist who often incorporates details about her sex life into her work. Her exhibit “Those Who Suffer Love” in London at White Cube ends in a few days, and for those of us who can’t be there to see her envelope-pushing work, we can take a look at what’s in the exhibit, as well as work that made her famous.
