Anthropologie will open its first European outpost, and the first outside of North America, in the heart of London's West End on Oct. 23. Anthropologie has made a habit of seeking out architecturally distinct spaces for its stores, and this one will be no exception.

In last night's episode of Man Shops Globe, Keith Johnson traveled to South Africa, where he was on the hunt for not-so-typical African crafts. After stumbling upon some unusual pottery and a handmade wooden dining chair straight out of a Van Gogh painting, he wandered into a magical art collective shop called Magpie , which sells knickknacks and décor made entirely from recycled objects. Be it a lid to a dog food can, a wine cork, or a Barbie, the eco-conscious craftsman turned the disposable into the extraordinary.

This new sofa from Anthropologie is actually upholstered with a type of rug that's made of silk and cotton and common in the Middle East. Can you name it?

While this Anthropologie Henning Sofa ($3,998) looked pretty sweet in the September catalog, when seen on its own, it's a little fugly, if you ask me. I'm a little shy of using plaid on large pieces of furniture, and when you combine two on the same piece, it's a design don't in my book. What about in yours?

This month, Anthropologie's newest catalog celebrates the beauty that can be found in the worn and the imperfect. From chipped benches to charmingly shabby cottages, these photos usher in the Fall season. See what I love about the current crop of Anthropologie's "nontraditional traditional" interior design photos and what inspirational ideas you can take away from the shots.

Anthropologie has done it again. The Chateau Lamp ($1,598) is every little girl's dream, but I also believe I've seen it myself during REM sleep. This palatial wirework rendering with curlicue turrets, squiggly eaves, and a floor of book leaves is not only a dollhouse of sorts (with a mini table, set of chairs, and glass and bottle of wine inside!), but also a table lamp!

Designer Corey Lynn Calter is debuting a line of pillows for Anthropologie this October. The pillows are apparently inspired by night creatures, such as owls and deer, and feature hand-dyed flowers, a mixture of patterns, and novelty stitching. While I often love the boho feel of Anthropologie's wares, these pillows are striking me as a little too haphazard.

While the August Anthropologie catalog's concentration is on "Real People, Real Places," there's also plenty of home decorating inspiration to be found as well. Come along with me to see some of my favorite ideas from the latest catalog.

When it comes to chandeliers and floor lamps, I like to buy statement-making pieces. But since the average living room has, I'd say, three table lamps, it's good to keep them subtle and noncompetitive. The Anthropologie Newton Lamp ($99.95, reduced from $198) is just the thing.
