Love It or Hate It? Knit Ruffle Bolster

West Elm just introduced this new Knit Ruffle Bolster ($34), a knit cotton pillow cover with a delicate fringed ruffle trim. I think it's adorable, and I love pearl and deep purple palette; très Chanel, n'est-ce pas? But the thing is, it doesn't seem very West Elm! It's much more feminine than most of their products. Do you like it? Would you like to see more of this sort of thing?

Desire/Acquire: West Elm Basketweave Headboard

If you're trying to cut corners buying bedroom furniture, a headboard is definitely something you can eliminate from your shopping list. You can try one of these 10 cool headboard alternatives or even just paint a headboard. But if you insist, you might as well buy an affordable one, right? This Basketweave Headboard ($350 on sale), made of natural banana leaves, has a cool modern island look to it that would work in a lot of bedrooms. But even on sale, it might be too expensive for some.

The Pier 1 Sea Grass Block Queen Headboard ($160 on sale) also has a basketweave pattern and is made of natural sea grass. The color is much lighter than West Elm's version, but it gives the same effect at a much, much more affordable price point!

Assisted Living: Lattice Print Rug

CasaSugar Community member McPanda asked in the Assisted Living group, "I am pining over a rug I never knew existed until this week and is exactly what I am looking for. Problem is, it was sold in 2008! I love the West Elm Taksim rug in the grey color, and am having trouble finding a good look a like that is affordable! I'm looking for under $500 for a 5x8. I wish West Elm would produce this again! Can you help me find a similar rug?"

I love that rug, too! (See how much I love it in this post.) If you live in a larger city, I'd suggest keeping an eye on Craigslist for the taksim rug, by searching for "West Elm Rug" regularly. I'd also look on eBay: I've actually seen a taksim rug on eBay in the past, so there's a chance you can find exactly what you're looking for there!

If that doesn't work, try this Eads Area Rug ($300) from Home Decorators, which is a close match.

Ask Casa: A More Affordable Option For This Rug?

I would love to have the Room and Board Cable Rug ($1,119) for my living room. It is so soft, and I love that it looks like a cozy sweater. But it is way out of my price range. Do you have any suggestions for a similar rug that would be less expensive?

What a gorgeous rug! I agree, though, that the price is rather steep. That's why I'd suggest west elm's Makena Rug ($479). At less than half the price of the Room and Board rug for a similar size, it's definitely more affordable. The color is a little more natural than the Room and Board option, but I actually prefer it.

Roundup: Geometric Furniture

I've totally fallen for the geometric base of this West Elm Geo Side Table ($199). I love how it has such a graphic presence but simultaneously seems really light.
