These wild things make my heart sing. In anticipation of the upcoming big screen adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are, retailer Urban Outfitters has unleashed a relatively tame new collection inspired by the classic children's book.
Like the Spike Jonze-directed flick, these designs take into account the style of the original illustrations while adding a hip, modern twist.

Nearly two years ago, I announced that Urban Outfitters, Inc., was launching a garden site. And earlier this year, when Danny Seo checked it out in person, I was looking for an excuse to head to Philly to see the store for myself. But now, it doesn't look like I'll have to book a ticket for Pennsylvania any time soon, since the gorgeous gardening and lifestyle store has just launched an e-commerce store.

I love a good sale, and since Urban Outfitters' September sale features prices under $10 for home items, I can definitely confirm this sale as a good one. There are plenty of cool items at greatly reduced prices to outfit every room in your home. Check out my top 10 finds.

I love a sale that makes me get out of the house. Through July 19, Urban Outfitters is chopping an extra 50 percent off already-reduced sale items in-store only. I'm sure there are plenty of jumpers and fedoras for you hip children, but what I'm interested in is the décor, obviously!Unfortunately, UO does have a few online exclusives that you might be after, and larger pieces like sofas and chairs might not be in stock in every store.

Urban Outfitters may be the go-to fashion and décor shop for high school and college kids, but the retailer's inventory is looking a little more grown-up these days. For instance, the Carnival Slipper Chair ($325) cues in on the ikat trend in a sophisticated, Pottery Barn-like palette. Like this ripe find?

I think I'm developing a lantern problem, and it's only getting worse as I spend more time out of doors this month! As the nights get warmer, I want to dine and relax beneath the stars, with the twinkling light of hanging lanterns to keep me company. This Shanghai Small Etched Metal Lantern (on sale for $7.99, originally $12) is so charming.

Urban Outfitters is reclining retro-style with its latest tufted velvet furniture. In addition to the Lana Tufted Velvet Pouf, the Antoinette Fainting Sofa ($575), now in more colors, nods to the old-time look with its name.
If you've been coveting that Mad Men headboard, there are plenty to choose from, including the Dauphine Velvet Headboard ($325) and the lush brown Velvet Tufted Headboard ($300).

Though this Urban Outfitters Rattan Pouf ($88) isn't a huge splurge, I think nearly 100 bucks (when you add shipping) is a lot to spend on a simple rattan cushion. This is especially true for me since I'd like to buy a few of them! It's such a great durable indoor/outdoor product that you can pull up as extra seating when you've got a full house.

Stay on top of the modern doily trend by stepping onto this Urban Outfitters Round Doilie Rug ($30, marked down from $48). I've been loving circular rugs lately — they add such an unexpected silhouette — and this is a cheap and easy way to put one down.
Plus, the black-and-white color combo means it will fit into countless rooms, while its delicate features keep the rug from looking too severe.
