Antiques are beautiful, but sometimes I can't resist a modern interpretation of an old classic, like the the Conran Shop Napoleone Cabinet ($4,950). Lacquered with glossy green, the timeless form of this seven-drawer chest takes on a lively and witty attitude. Sadly this cabinet is astronomically out of reach for me, but a girl can dream, can't she? If I were the proud owner of this royal French piece, I'd fill it with Hermes scarves, vintage leather gloves, buckets of baubles, and some extortionate lace. How about you?

"Clean house" is always the last thing to be checked off my to-do list. But, that might not be the case if I were the proud owner of the Conran Shop Turquoise Cleaning Bucket ($29.50, reduced from $59). Made of iron coated in a vibrant shade of blue, the durable bucket will last until your cleaning days are over - which will be never. This Just In: Vipp and Helena Christensen Team Up For Charity

Danish design company VIPP and supermodel Helena Christensen have teamed up to hold a charity auction of Vipp pedal bins that have been given a fashionable makeover by fashion, design, art, and entertainment leaders. The bins have been made over by the likes of Bono, Michael Stipe, Mario Batali, Michael Bastian, Simon Doonan, Frederic Fekkai, Karim Rashid, Jason Miller, Todd Oldham, Alice Temperley, Mena Suvari, and more, and will be sold in a silent auction benefiting the Food Bank For New York City and Chernobyl Children’s Project International. An installation of the bins will be on display for public viewing and pre-bidding at The Conran Shop in New York through Thursday, Sept. 18, when an evening auction event will be held at the Winston Wächter Fine Art Gallery. Every once in awhile, I encounter a furnishing that literally blows my mind. That time is now. The Conran Shop Ball Poster Bed ($17,000) is dramatic, unorthodox, and downright eye catching. This exclusive Conran Shop design reinterprets a traditional, unassuming four-poster bed with burnt- and waxed-ash balls stacked to create posters, completely stealing the show. I'd love to see it against an accent wall with patterned wallpaper like Ferm's Waldots, although it speaks volumes in any setting. Do you love it?

Crave Worthy: Gregor Jenkins Profile Table

The Profile Table ($4,500) from South African studio Gregor Jenkins Design combines the traditional, curvy look of turned wood with the striking edge of industrial steel. It's a sophisticated compromise for a couple with tastes on opposite ends of the classic/contemporary spectrum. I'd love to see it surrounded by classic café bentwood chairs to add some depth and a natural texture. Although this South African stunner is built to outlive me, I'd still have a hard time convincing myself to drop nearly five grand on a table.

Crave Worthy: The Conran Shop Poldo Como Chest

When I first laid eyes on this Poldo Como Chest ($4,950) from The Conran Shop, I actually considered selling my eggs to buy it. I'd love to build a room around this bold piece, and find a way to temper its outrageous Rococo curves and fierce color with more subtle, contemporary décor. This one's a show-stopper alright, and certainly a talking point. With some careful consideration though, I realized I could just paint and lacquer a thrift store Rococo find, instead of risking my health for a piece of furniture.

Trend Alert: Mirror, Mirror Off the Wall

Until recently, mirrored-front furniture always made me think of the '80s. But lately, I've noticed a spate of off-the-wall mirror pieces - including end tables and dressers - that evoke everything from geometric art deco design to delicate, feminine boudoirs.

I never thought I'd find myself drawn to mirrored furniture, but now I'm appreciating even the more '80s-leaning items, like this pair of Gump's Mirrored Stacking Tables ($295). Check out some of my other finds below by clicking on the photos and let me know what you think.

Designer Spotlight: Terence Conran

On my first trip to London, I wasted no time heading to The Conran Shop, one of the hippest home stores in existence and the perfect place to acquaint myself with Terence Conran, a one-man bastion of British design.

It's tough to say what the 75-year-old Conran is best known for. As the founder of the Habitat home stores in 1964, he introduced a high-design aesthetic to a wide spectrum of shoppers. He's also a hotelier and restaurateur with more than 20 eateries, as well as the founder of the architectural and design firm Conran and Partners.

Most important, as far as I'm concerned, is that the designer is still redefining modern hip with his eight Conran Shops, which feature a well-curated selection of designers as well as Conran's work, which you can see examples of below.
