Scallop patterns are showing up all over the design world lately. I'm particularly fond of the scalloping pattern on Catherine Hammerton's Scale wallpaper. Scalloping looks like the wavy pattern found on the edge of a scallop's shell.

Holidays are on my mind lately, as is the perfect table setting. I love seeing family and friends gathered around a gorgeous table; nothing says "holiday" to me the way that a perfectly set table does.
So, for the latest What You're Wanting, I want to know how you'd furnish, accessorize, and style a holiday table.

DIYer Paul Smith spent several weekends constructing shelves for the odd, recessed space on either side of his fireplace. He cut wood to size, drilled, glued, clamped, and painted, and came up with something amazing. Here's what it looked like about halfway through the project.

Desire to Inspire recently posted a makeover of the poolside guest quarters of a Pacific Palisades estate by interior designer Mae Brunken, and I was completely floored by the project. As you can see, the space was cramped with large furniture, and it didn't quite make sense. Items were not stored properly, the television was oddly positioned, and quite frankly, the space simply lacked personality.

While I usually clean my bathroom (or, ahem, I should say, my husband cleans the bathroom) with vinegar, baking soda, and Bon Ami, I decided it was time for a switch. And to be completely honest, this switch was pressured by the hubz's complaints about the overwhelming vinegar smell in our small bathroom space during cleaning. And I agree, it's definitely a pungent scent.
