In this 5,500-square-foot London house, an eclectic range of furniture from the 1930s onward is spread throughout three floors and two roof terraces, proving that high style needn't demand high prices. Patterned upholstery, vintage wallpaper, and a bold use of paint colors makes this home full of personality, not stiff polish. To take a full tour, check out this slideshow.

As an urban dweller, I don't come into contact with nature as much as I'd like. But I do have the benefit of a backyard full of birds: hummingbirds, blue jays, and all sorts of others that my amateur bird-watching skills have yet to identify.
Though bird-watching may not be the hippest hobby, there are tons of hip bird houses and bird feeders on the market right now.

I've blogged lots and lots about birds, and even wrote a post entirely full of bird puns. So, it's no secret that I love dem birds! Can you see the common element in both of these photos? There's a black bird sculpture hovering on the shelf in Emily Walker's Canadian crib, recently featured in Canadian House and Home. Not to be outdone, the same bird's perching on the Living Etc July 2009 cover.

In the current issue of Vanity Fair, writer Bob Colacello interviews Nancy Reagan on everything from her late husband to stem cell research in his article "Nancy Reagan's Solo Role." While the article is full of fascinating information about the former first lady, my eyes were immediately drawn to this photo on the website. The green expanse of lawn, framed by the diminutive Reagan perched upon an elegant, feminine chair, seemed to be the perfect portrait of the quiet, composed woman.

The Golden Arrow Table ($2,500) features three arrows tied together at the center to form a tripod, and a round glass top perched on arrow heads. A series of these tables was originally designed for the Architectural Digest Green Room at the 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards. Do you think this table hits the mark?

I just noticed this Folding Bird House ($50) new at the MoMA store, and I'm completely smitten. If you haven't already caught that I adore birds, I do. And, obviously, I'm a design fiend.

Eddie Ross is at it again. Last month, he headed down to the New Orleans Home and Garden Show, where he was asked to design a room showcasing products from participating vendors and stores around town. He started with this lavender wall color to set a soft tone to the space.
