Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Buy a House For Harlow

Young parents with a second on the way Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have decided to settle their growing family down in a 5,380-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 5.5-bath home in Laurel Canyon, CA, purchasing the property for under $2 million. The "Aspen Lodge meets Tropical Paradise" pad is an anomaly of sorts, compared to the modern celebrity homes of their young Hollywood peers. The property was purchased from NFL and XFL linebacker Mike Croel, whose décor choices were uninspired to say the least. It would be interesting to see how budding designer Richie accessorizes her new home. But beyond furnishings, the home has a lot of assets in its bare bones, including soaring ceilings, a huge sky dome, an expansive eat-in kitchen, a full guest house, and a lagoon pool. Inspired: Nicole Richie's Fashion-Week Stripes

It was pretty unanimous that Fab's readers loved Nicole Richie in stripes at DKNY's Fashion Week show, and I am no exception to the pack. I loved how she pulled off the bold stripes by keeping things minimal. And, how the smartly balanced small and large stripes were mimicked by her suede caged shoes. And, I couldn't help but notice how her royal blue and black palette is a dead ringer for the West Elm Tangiers Rug ($59-$359). This Just In: Nicole and Joel are on the House-Hunt

According to Real Estalker, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden took a gander at a three-bedroom, two-bath Cape Cod-esque home in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday. The traditional style home is all kinds of precious and fit for a family of three with a small yard, pool, flagstone deck, new kitchen, carrera marble baths, gorgeous dark hardwood floors, french doors throughout, and lush landscaping. Can't you just see Harlow splashing around in that yard one day? Oh, and it's walled and gated, so it's paparazzi-proof! The asking price is $1.649 million, just a bit more than they paid for their humble NYC abode. I know it's probably staged, but I'm really loving the décor, especially how the series of frames on the shelf in the bedroom is used as a headboard. I was also a bit surprised at how good the modern furnishings look in the living room, even though the architecture of the house is traditional. I for one think it's adorable: quaint and private with all the fixin's. I'm a little turned off by the placement of the living room fireplace, though: doesn't it look odd?

This Just In: Nicole and Joel Call NYC Home

According to Page Six, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden quietly purchased "a two-bedroom, two-bath downtown condo on the Bowery" for $999,999 in December. The 1,000-square-foot, 11th-floor pad, which is said to be "very simple, nothing high design," and "was sold unrenovated," will be the primary residence of the family of three. A Corcoran listing for the building says, "The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, granite counters, and Shaker-style maple cabinetry. The baths are finished with marble floors, walls, and vanity."
Page Six notes, "celeb-friendly clubs BLVD and Crash Mansion are on the block." Let's hope baby Harlow gives it a few years before becoming a club kid.
