When it comes to patterns, I don't have much of an animal instinct, but I enjoy a dose here or there - so long as no wild things are harmed in the making. I'd set this Cheetah Print Bench ($650) at the foot of my bed, but I wouldn't upholster an entire sofa in the fabric. How about you?

I've had 18th century design on my mind lately . . . I'm really feeling damask fabrics, carving wood, and gilding as of late. I guess I'd like a little Marie Antoinette-esque design in my life; but not too much, I'm a modern gal! The Neiman Marcus Carved Loveseat ($2,999) has all of those elements that I adore, that make me feel like I'm strolling the pavilions of Versailles. But I think it could be easily integrated into my modern home, perhaps beside a slick white side table or some mirrored furniture. Even if it doesn't make its way into my digs (long shot), I'll still "Ooooh" and "Ahhh" over it. Will you?

Found It! Nicky Hilton's Pendant Lights

Flipping through my vast magazine collection, I recently reread the March issue of InStyle. This issue featured the home of celeb socialite Nicky Hilton, and while I did find it quite chic (though fussy at times) for a 20-something, it wasn't the sophisticated interior design style that struck me. In the master bedroom, which she calls, "classic but naughty [ . . . with] a cabaret feel" (note: patent leather upholstered headboard), the pendant lights framing her bed glared at me. Nicky's pendants are the Sugarlite Pendants ($625) from Neiman Marcus (also available for $590 from Cottage & Bungalow). I featured the pendant in my Black and White Elegance Trend Alert about a year ago. If you take a look at the rest of Nicky's apartment you can see she's certainly a proponent of "black and white elegance." Perhaps she was inspired by my post?

Crave Worthy: Piero Fornasetti Libri Cabinet

At the Jekyll & Hyde Pub in Greenwich Village, a spooky, English Gothic themed restaurant, the bathroom door is a trompe l'oeil bookcase, and always scared the be-jesus out of me when I visited as a kid. The Piero Fornasetti Libri Cabinet ($14,962) scares me too, but only because of its price. The hand-painted beaut features a design by artist Piero Fornasetti on an African mahogany frame. Though its two doors may not open to reveal a mysterious Goth powder room, they do conceal ample storage for an encyclopedia collection and your French horn. And, how can you argue with that? This Just In: Roubini Launches Fornasetti Rug Collection

Roubini Rugs has just launched a collection of 26 rugs riffed off of the work of Milanese painter, sculptor, interior decorator, and engraver Piero Fornasetti, naturally called the Fornasetti Rug Collection. The rugs are hand knotted in fine New Zealand wool, made in standard or custom sizes, and available through Neiman Marcus or Roubini. If you're unfamiliar with Fornasetti's original works, you may recognize them from reproduced versions in the form of furniture and other home accents (baskets, vases, plates); they have a playful, flippant sense of humor, and in some cases are clearly inspired by Greek and Roman architecture. "Emisfero Orientale" ($24,620) reimagines Greek mythology of constellations in golden tones, royal blue, and vivid red. "Bacio" ($8,100) pays lip service in bold graphic design to Lina Cavalieri's face. "Ortensia" ($14,100) is a tribute to nature, displaying an over-scaled hydrangea leaf on a velvety black background.

My heart literally stopped beating altogether when I first laid eyes on the Neiman Marcus Bierdermeier-Style Stool ($579-599). Tasteful, yet seductive. Reserved, yet entrancing. Breathtaking. With Spring on my mind, I can't help but be attracted to this Neiman Marcus Cane Garden Stool ($220), which brings to mind a latticed garden archway. This one's less than half the price of the crave worthy stool I featured recently and opens up top as storage for your outdoor (or indoor) essentials. Its hand-painted woven pattern is very Dorothy Draper, I must say, and would sparkle in any modern-day prepster interior.

The long lost sister of my beloved Haley Table Lamp, the Neiman Marcus Textured Lamp ($375) has a great gourd-shape, a silky barrel shade, and a versatile three-way switch. But, the base of this beauty has a busy, capiz-like texture that's eye-catching, feminine, and casts a warm glow. I'd love to see her with a Mansour rug and perhaps some Winter velvets in a girl-y boudoir.
