Kate Walsh's 1920s Spanish-style Los Angeles home is featured in this month's issue of InStyle, and I'm blown away by how glamorously laid-back it is. While elements like a Steinway grand piano, lush fur throws, and a 1960s Lucite console offer that prim Old Hollywood look you see in many celebrity homes, there is something really layered and livable about it that I found unusual. Turns out, Walsh eschewed her usual interior designer route and hired the set decorator of Private Practice, Melissa Levander, to put the space together.

You might expect the son of a renowned star like Tom Hanks to swoop up a sprawling Hollywood mansion at first chance, courtesy of Dad. But Colin Hanks is determined to be an actor in his own right and has his priorities straight. Thus, he's quietly purchased a modest two-bedroom, 1.75-bath home in Los Angeles for just over $1 million.

January Jones's character in Mad Men may live in a picture-perfect house, but in real life, the actress doesn't mind a little work. January just snatched up a fixer-upper in LA's Los Feliz neighborhood for just over $1 million. The 2,200-square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath 1920s Mediterranean villa is definitely dated, and a far cry from some of the slickly renovated homes of her contemporaries.

Blending modern and vintage décor, Hollywood, CA, interior designer Michelle Workman used a green and white color palette to create a bright, clean, and inspiring home look for her Connecticut transplant client. The client's traditional pieces were incorporated into the new design and given California flair.
Michelle explains,
[The client] wanted to change the look she had from back East.

Interior designer Peter Dunham, whose signature style is marked by casual sophistication, was the perfect person to bring this 1920s Hollywood Spanish house back to its former glory. Working with an architecture firm, the designer collaborated on finishes, architectural details, and room layouts. Emerging from this collaboration is a home that exuberantly mixes luxurious and playful elements.

Hollywood interior designer Michelle Workman has designed spaces for celebs including John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez, but in my opinion, this Malibu pad deserves a starring role as well.
Michelle explains,
I was brought onto this job during the construction phase, and I wanted to bring the organic feel of Malibu into the home. My main focus was on the surfaces: flooring, countertops, tile and lighting.

Although Entourage is back for another season, in real life, Vince's publicist Debi Mazar and her own entourage are on the move. The actress has listed her family's 2,096-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath 1930s Spanish-style hacienda in Los Angeles for $1.4 million. The property has a lush, gated front garden and a grassy back garden that make an ideal place for her 3- and 7-year-old daughters.

John Krasinski is making a habit of saying "Away We Go" lately — this time to a new 2,640-square-foot, three-bedroom, four-bath gated mid-century home in LA. His $1.9 million purchase sits high above Hollywood's legendary Chateau Marmont hotel on what real estate agents deem a "celebrity cul-de-sac." So, Krasinski should feel right at home among his VIP cronies.

Charlie Sheen has listed his 4,179-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-and-one-half bath restored Mediterranean-style-home in LA's Los Feliz neighborhood for $3.7 million. The home, which is not Sheen's principal residence, might just be my favorite celebrity home I've seen to date. Sheen and his wife have made the wise choice to let the gated villa's beautiful architectural details (vaulted, wood-beamed ceilings, rich wood floors, stunning floor tiling, a sweeping staircase) shine by using primarily solid white upholstery and adding personality with accessories and interesting artwork.
