Crave Worthy: Versace Home Greek Key Lamp

I never really thought to look at the Versace Home Collection. In fact, I've been somewhat avoiding it because I figured it might be tacky, New Jersey mafia style, and I've seen enough of that in my lifetime. Thanks to a suggestion from GIOVS, though, I made my way over to the site and was pleasantly surprised at how many good-looking pieces they sell.

I'm loving their selection of Greek key-patterned lamps, particularly this Dedalo Mini ceramic table lamp. I think the oversize, rectangular lampshade is very sleek and professional looking, and would look great in a home office. (I'm really craving it though, so I'd probably keep it close by at my bedside.) The price tag on this beauty was nowhere to be found, but I suspect it's a small fortune. Trend Alert: Key Patterns

Though it has its origins in ancient Greece, the key pattern is a very modern-looking motif, and the decoration is particularly ubiquitous at this very moment. Jonathan Adler is rather obsessed with the pattern, using it to add a chic vibe to rugs and other accents, such as the Greek Key Crewel Pillow ($58, above left).

A classic design motif that consists of interlocking and repeated geometric designs - typically vertical and horizontal lines linked together at right angles. The look is also called "Greek key" because of its ancient Grecian origins. The bold, masculine pattern is often used as a border or a decorative accent on rugs, dinnerware, and wooden furniture.

Vivienne Tam Launches Upholstery Furniture Collection

Fashion force Vivienne Tam is taking her modern Chinoiserie home - to your home. She's partnered with Rowe Furniture to create a new collection of custom upholstery furniture, including multiple sofa groupings and accent pieces. While designing furniture is a natural extension for many fashion designers, I think Tam's strength lies in textiles, so I'm excited to see a range of exclusive fabric designs used in the collection. "I want to bring beautifully designed prints, fabrics, colors and textures to create a truly unique line with subtle and sophisticated pieces inspired by my Chinese roots," she explains.

As for the furniture designs themselves, I'm most impressed with her Adler Sofa (shown here). There's a really harmonious balance between its sleek legs and plush cushions, blending formality and comfort. The way the rectangular shape of the legs is built into the sofa's arms themselves is very unique, but also derivative of Eastern styles. To see her chair designs and hear more details, read more.

To me, her Peony chair looks too much like a cross between the Artifort Apollo chair and the Ikea Skruvsta - not very original. Her Daniela chair is a slipper chair we've all seen before. And the Greek key arms on her Camelia chair are amiss paired with her cherry blossom print and Chinoiserie-style legs. But I do praise the textiles; each is understated, elegant, and youthful.

The line will start shipping at the beginning of next year, but will be unveiled at the Las Vegas World Market in September as well as the High Point furniture market in October.

Steal of the Day: Z Gallerie Soho Pavilion

Z Gallerie's Soho Pavilion ($399.99, reduced from $599.99) is water- and fade-resistant, so you can host a chic party outdoors rain or shine. But, would you blame me for wanting to set up this chic tent indoors? I'm imagining a cross between Nick Olsen's tented workspace and interior designer Marjorie Skouras's oversize indoor topiary bedroom. We don't all have yard space, but this tasseled, Greek-key item could create a loungey, magical space in any room at least 10 feet in height, depth, and width. Just throw in some sisal or a Moroccan-style rug, plants, a hanging lantern, a few floor pillows, and a sofa like west elm's Overlapping Squares Daybed, and you're done. So cozy, yet so transportive and chic!

Steal of the Day: JCPenney Canvas Cube Ottoman

Nailhead trim is like a great red lipstick. Both infuse even the most bare surfaces with eye-catching pizazz. Take the JCPenney Canvas Cube Ottoman ($79.99, reduced from $240), for example. You can't get more basic and blah that a canvas cube. Add nailhead trim in a greek key pattern and suddenly, you've got a fresh, elegant furnishing to use as spare seating or a side table in a contemporary or traditional home.

Nice and New: Pottery Barn Monroe Side Table

I just noticed this new side table at Pottery Barn, and I'm totally smitten. The Carrara marble top on the Monroe Side Table ($399) is simply chic with its delicate veins and versatile color, and its hand-hammered frame gives it extra oomph. I particularly adore its geometrical, Greek key-esque shape, which recalls the Art Deco era. This design would adapt well to most interiors; it's not too modern or traditional. It just works.

Found It! Olivia Palermo's Floor Lamp

I recently wrote a Found It! about the pillows in the living room of New York socialite and The City star, Olivia Palermo. While I wouldn't call myself a fan of this girl, I do dig her polished and muted digs. I knew I'd seen the Greek key-esque floor lamp in the corner of her room somewhere, but I couldn't remember where. It just struck me that it's so obvious: her lamp is from the shop of a famous interior designer, who recently designed a dream house for a pop icon. To find out where it's from, read more.

The lamp is the Parker Floor Lamp ($550) by Jonathan Adler. Adler recently designed the Barbie Malibu Dream House; Palermo's a little bit of a wannabe Barbie, don't you think?
