Remember how I covered my hideous linoleum floors with woodgrain contact paper? Well, while they looked fabulous, it came time to take them off. The contact paper itself was easy to remove, but as expected, a very tough adhesive residue was left.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, my husband and I are staying at his mom's Whidbey Island retreat. Luckily, the house is big enough to allow us the luxury of staying in a guest bedroom. I've spent a good many nights sleeping on sofas, and I don't mind, but a guest bedroom is always a wonderful luxury!

If you still think eco-friendly furniture is for hippies, you should spend some time browsing the wares at Vivavi. This design emporium is way more hip than hippy, with luxurious finds that would be irresistible even if they weren't earth-friendly. The shop was founded by Josh Dorfman, whose philosophy comes through in the title of his book, The Lazy Environmentalist: Your Guide to Easy, Stylish Green Living.

Some of my friends love to swing by the cafeteria at Ikea for a pick-me-up during their shopping sprees. Myself, I've always just settled for a soft-serve cone on my way out the door. Do you ever eat lunch at Ikea?
