When the Volkswagen Fox launched a few years ago, the Hotel Fox in Copenhagen, Denmark, invited 21 international artists to outfit and design 61 rooms as they saw fit. The designs that emerged ranged in style from fairytale fantasy to cool modern art. Artists such as Miami's Friends With You and Australia's Rinzen worked to create rooms that would truly transport visitors from the everyday workaday world to a vacation fantasy realm.

Are foxes the new It animal in the decorating world? From the amount of these sly creatures I've found in catalogs and art sites lately, my answer is yes. It also doesn't hurt that Wes Anderson's new movie The Fantastic Mr. Fox features a too-cool fox voiced by the always awesome George Clooney.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel's characters in (500) Days of Summer found their patterned pillowcases to be quite smoochworthy, as you can see. Me? I've always been a white linen kind of gal.

500 Days of Summer doesn't make its debut in theaters until July 17, but I've already got an eye on the sets. Here, Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt stand on a rooftop in full Summer style. Of course, the pair look quite dapper in a beautifully patterned sundress and a sharp suit, but it's the paper lanterns that complete the scene.

I just came across these exquisite Lace and Foxes Valentines ($10) by Hello Handmade Paperie, who will inscribe your love note in calligraphy and mail off your card for you. Although I think my chicken scratch does have a certain je ne sais quoi — what's not to love? — the card got me to thinking that calligraphy is a lost art these days.

I just stumbled across this porcelain Jonathan Adler Chain Frame ($125) and was reminded of how much I cherish the equestrian-chic look of a classic chain link. As much as I love the frame (white porcelain, yum), I don't know if I'd throw down over 100 smackers for it, unless perhaps it displayed a photo of me and say . .

While emails may be quick, and gag cards funny, I can't stress enough how important it is to have a set of personalized notecards on hand. Sending a hand-written note on personalized stationery exhibits thoughtfulness and timeless, chic style. Of course, some occasions call for a bit of snark, or a swift reply, but when writing a thank-you note or dropping someone a line, setting a more formal tone is key.
