This year you were divided and unified over umpteen Love It or Hate It polls. But, there was one thing that not only united 76 percent of you (in hatred), but also sent you into to a fury of conversation: a poll on Ivanka Trump's decorating skills. When Trump made over her assistant's apartment with every trendy decor piece known to man, and infused it with a migraine of clashing colors and pattern, you had a lot to say!

Each has been inspiring and a wonderful reflection of your personal style. You all were particularly blown away with Su Casa member boop-oop-a-doop's swanky holiday party photos, showcasing the cocktail bar and a buffet she fashioned in her small apartment to keep people circulating and prevent traffic jams. This year, I shared dozens of DIY projects with you, ranging from easy and quick to more time-consuming and intensive enterprises. You were taken by the garden box I built in my backyard to grow my own crop of vegetables and inspired to build your own. This year has been a confetti of celebrity real estate news, and thanks to the Internet gods, we've gotten a sneak peek into plenty of current and former celeb digs to gawk at. But when beloved reality star Lauren Conrad bought her first home at only 21 years old, and left her well-televised digs in the Hollywood Hills, you (and I) really went bananas, surely overwhelmed with a moderate dose of envy. As part of our Best of 2008 polls, you named Kelly Wearstler your favorite female interior designer this year. From her new rug designs for the Rug Company, to her post as a Top Design judge, to her new resort development in the British West Indies, Kelly's been a pretty busy gal this year and it's certainly paid off in your minds. I'm always eager to see what else KW's got in store for us, whether it be her kooky sartorial fashions or her residential, hotel and retail interiors.

Your Favorite Male Interior Designer of 2008

As part of our Best of 2008 polls, you named Vern Yip your favorite male interior designer this year. Thom Filicia came in as a close second in the polls, but Yip takes the cake in my mind for his work renovating two very worthy community organizations for low-income families in San Francisco. I'm impressed with his attention to detail and covet the sense of warmth he brings to his clean-lined interiors. And, of course, I also enjoy his charismatic presence on HGTV's Design Star and Deserving Design.

Your Favorite Home Trend of 2008

As part of our Best of 2008 polls, you named typography your favorite home trend this year, and I'm with you there! While I don't necessarily like to decorate with words, I think designers have been doing a lot of interesting things with typography this year. From pillows to bookends to bird houses, letters and characters have been reinvented in dozens of fresh new ways. Be sure to check out Helvetica, a wonderful documentary about the proliferation of the typeface.

Your Favorite Product Designer of 2008

As part of our Best of 2008 polls, you named Jonathan Adler as your favorite product designer this year. I'm with you on this one; from pottery and pillows to furniture and rugs, Adler does it all, and fabulously I might add. He even designed the award statuette for this year's Moth Ball! And, he's got something for everyone, at prices high and low, so even the most cash-strapped of us can get in on the Adler. This year especially, I've been wowed by his updated needlepoint and cheeky pottery pieces.
