Singer Cassie rocked an edgy, punk crochet look at the BET Awards last night. I love how glam the lacy pattern looks in black, and Cassie's punk-inspired half-shaved head accentuates the singer's beauty while letting fans know that she's not to be trifled with. Inspired, I set out to find some similar looks.

Hi Casa,
I am adding, for the first time ever, fine photography to my apartment. However I am at a loss when it comes to framing styles and arrangement.
One set of four photographs is horizontally-oriented and black-and-white.

If you're looking for a feminine, cool color, lavender is always a good bet. This palest purple shade is named for the pretty flower of the same name. With shades ranging from a brighter purple to gray-tinted pale lavenders to lavender pinks, there's plenty to choose from when it comes to shades of lavender.

Even though I'm far removed from my elementary and high school years, I still feel nostalgic every September, when my thoughts turn to big yellow school buses and swing-filled playgrounds. I'm betting that many of you feel nostalgic as well, especially if your little one is in elementary school this Fall. To get you into the school spirit, I've rounded up some great art that will have you singing your ABCs and reciting your multiplication tables.

While Labor Day is often too chilly for a swimming party, a picnic is usually a surefire bet. Whether you head to your backyard or a local park, it's hard to go wrong when you've got your wicker basket filled with goodies.

Su Casa member Melissa Kathleen recently updated a piece of furniture that had been in her family for decades. She writes, "When my family and I had to move my grandmother out of her apartment, we didn't know what to do with all of her furniture. When I saw her old chest she kept in her large bathroom, I loved the shape and wanted to re-finish it."

One look at this sophisticated linen hand-stitched chain pillow, and I bet you'd never guess it's from HSN. Well, it is. And better yet, this Nate Berkus Linen Chain Pillow ($14.95, reduced from $39.95) is unbelievably affordable.

I think that most of us have daydreams about how we would renovate our homes, if we had the time or the money. For me, I'd work on turning the undeveloped space on the bottom level of my house into a guest room/office space. Other friends of mine dream about trading out their showers for old-fashioned clawfoot tubs.

Think barns are just for livestock? With outstanding renovations of existing barns, as well as new designs inspired by vernacular barn style, they're more than fit for human habitation. And while you may not have been born in a barn, after taking a look at some of these designs, I bet you'd be proud to call one home.Source
