Pretty Pink Pieces For Your Valentine's Day Table

It's the perfect time of the year to go pastel pink.

It's the perfect time of the year to go pastel pink. Don't let your Valentine's Day party decorations or front door have all the fun — embellish your tabletop with some inspired pink pieces as well.

For a subtle blush of pink, start with the Rosanna Classique Glass in Pink ($55 for a set of 4, top row, left). Created from vintage molds from the early 20th century, they'd be perfect for showcasing a Valentine's Day punch for a stay-at-home romantic dinner.

Add a soft glow to your table with the Floral Hurricane Candleholder ($5, middle row, left). Don't have time to grab a bouquet for your table? The frosted floral detailing on this candleholder can serve as a stand-in for fresh blooms.

For a romantic country touch, set the table with these Azalea Spring Toile Napkins ($5 each, bottom row, left). Perfectly pretty, these floral toile napkins are machine washable, so you can use them for everyday as well as special occasions.

New Year's Eve is just days away, so it's time to start thinking of the evening's decor and search for some inspiration. Be it cute home-made labels for the bubbly, wine or water bottles, a cute centrepiece with the ball dropping a la NYC, or a full-blown table setup for dinner, the sky is the limit when it comes to colors and decor (although silver and gold in stars and baubles still seem to be the winning combination when it comes to popularity...).

A Different Take on the Christmas Tablescape

If you're not in the mood this year for the usual Christmas tinsel and trim, fear not: there are ways to get away from the typical yuletide tabletop scheme.

If you're not in the mood this year for the usual Christmas tinsel and trim, fear not: there are ways to get away from the typical yuletide tabletop scheme. Lifestyle guru and style expert Eddie Ross has the right idea; he recently shared his interpretation of a (wallet-friendly!) contemporary Christmas table with CasaSugar, offering plenty of ideas for mixing affordable new dinner and servingware with unique vintage textiles.

Ross, whose past stints include food editor at Martha Stewart Living and design director at Food Network, doesn't just have good aesthetic taste — he's got a pretty solid palate as well. Keep reading for more sweet ideas when it comes to hosting friends and family at the table this holiday season.

Eddie Ross Celebrates the Holidays With a Custom Tablescape

When it comes to holiday decorating, it's time to stray from the typical red and green decor.

When it comes to holiday decorating, it's time to stray from the typical red and green decor. That's exactly what designer Eddie Ross did when he created this lovely, fresh tablescape that takes a definite departure from the usual Christmas colors.

Better yet, this tablescape is very affordable. Sourcing items from Cindy Crawford's collection for JC Penney, as well as West Elm, Crate and Barrel, and local garden stores, Eddie mixed these pieces with textiles he sewed himself and vintage pieces he already owned. The result is pretty spectacular.

To get a similar look, Eddie encourages us to "just think outside the box. One of the things I feel that is really unique about this table is the mix of new and old. But really, even new pieces are the antiques of the future. You know? It’s like the Fire King that’s very affordable in the '30s, '40s, and '50s are now collector items. The Cindy Crawford items are very inexpensive but will be collector’s items in the future."

Legends of the Fall Tablescape

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member cocojakob from the Su Casa group: I found a new place to decorate: the ceiling!

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member cocojakob from the Su Casa group:

I found a new place to decorate: the ceiling! I've been doing it for years, actually, but am now ready to share the secret. 3M Command Hooks are removable and don't leave a mark. For this tablescape, it allowed me to suspend mercury glass pinecones and acorns over the table for an added layer of design. On the table, I made a burlap runner, topped with a gold lamé runner, topped with a silky chocolate runner. The centerpiece is tall yet ethereal: a wire topiary placed in a mercury glass vase, filled with moss, and then tied with a satin bow. On either side is a vintage cast-iron urn, also filled with earthy moss, acorns, and dried leaves painted gold. A light brown mercury glass pumpkin sits on top of each. Anchoring each end is a sheath of wheat tied with a chocolate brown satin ribbon. A link with more pictures can be found here, as well as details on where to buy everything.
