Mistake: Excess Knickknacks

There's nothing wrong with knickknacks, especially if they're souvenirs or art pieces. But a whole wall of them that have no functional purpose looks messy, kitschy, and cluttered.

I have no use for knicknacks...again (like the flowers) if it's skillfully displayed (having a cluster of all white knickknacks for instance can look nice) then it looks fine, too much like in the photo makes me anxious, lol...not soothing at all

Yup, not a nick nacky person. I like candles and vases for decorating, maybe a few photos, but I don't like "chackies". I reserve all that stuff for the christmas tree.

I have a few collections. One is a mid size collection of Boehm birds (look them up, they're beautiful) but since they are different colors and types of birs, I have them throughout the house where they flow with the decor and they also create a sense of unity room to room. I would never throw them all up on a shelf. Too overwhelming and they would get lost in eachother. Ina bad way.

ugh. I don't know if I could even handle an entire collection of something.

I hate stuff like this. At least an entire collection of something looks better (like all snow babies or all snow globes or something) but a hodge podge is awful.
