Located in the historic, turn of the century-crafted Beaux Arts Building, the W Hotel Union Square's redesign merges cutting edge style with old world decadence.

Located in the historic, turn of the century-crafted Beaux Arts Building, the W Hotel Union Square's redesign merges cutting edge style with old world decadence. The hotel’s 270 guest rooms and the Extreme-WOW and WOW suites, designed by internationally renowned firms d-ash design and Wilson Associates, are the latest additions to the hotel's massive renovations. Other recent changes include the unveiling of W Hotel Union Square's subterranean bar, Lilium, and a renovation of Todd English’s Olives New York restaurant, which will be completed this month. Aside from the awe-inspiring decor, there are plenty of perks related to the hotel's ideal location as well, including direct access to Union Square Park's facilities and one of Manhattan's largest sustainable markets, the Union Square Green Market. If you're considering a trip to the Big Apple, take a look at everything the newly refreshed hotel has to offer!

Home Away From Home: W Hotel Vieques Island

W Hotels is a terrific brand.

W Hotels is a terrific brand. The quality of its interiors and the experience of a stay at a W is hard to beat. I can't complain about the W's hip, sleek, and sexy design aesthetic, but after a while I will say each location tends to look the same. Clean lines, shine, ambient lighting . . . a lot like a Virgin America airplane! But I just came across the W Retreat and Spa in Vieques Island, Puerto Rico, which opened in March, and I'm eating my words. This home away from home has all the luxuries of its sister locations but it's infused with color, movement, and pattern, giving it a unique, Latin flavor. It is terrifically outfitted with boldly patterned pillows on every chair, fun hanging chairs around every corner, rainbow-striped outdoor lounge chairs, engaging art installations, modern shapes, and a perfect mix of neutrals and pops of color. Take a tour of the property below.

Online Sale Alert for Your Pet! The W Hotel Store

When we lived in Manhattan, North loved the W Union Square so much that, even from across the street, he would pull the leash to go say hi.

When we lived in Manhattan, North loved the W Union Square so much that, even from across the street, he would pull the leash to go say hi. It may have been for the yummy dog treats the bellhops kept in their pockets, but they knew him by name and always made us feel welcome even though we just lived around the corner. Not only do the W Hotels offer cat and dog toys at check-in, they've got a turndown service of the cozy (pet) beds with a snack! While most of us can't live in the hotel, now it's easy to bring the hotel to us.

The W Hotel Store has a huge sale on all of those items you see above – everything is at least 50% off! Like that pup tent... I mean, "Hound Lounge"... only $89 – dog, not included.
