One of our favorite designers, Jeff Andrews, just designed Kris and Bruce Jenner's home, which will be featured in a 24-page spread in the upcoming August/September issue of Interiors magazine. Jeff just shared an exclusive look at Kris Jenner's new office, as well as his tips for re-creating a similar look in your own home.

The great color on the cabinets and built-in shelving unit

Customizing the built-in:

  • "We lacquered them and installed an antique mirror in the back of the shelves for some sparkle. We then added amazing new hardware and styled it with a mix of high-end accessories and Kris's own personal memorabilia and photographs."

The upholstery you used on the chairs in front of the desk:

  • "Custom embroidered fabric by Jennifer Robbins Textiles".

The desk:

  • "It's a Lucite base with a custom smoked glass top."

Favorite pieces in the office:

  • "Each piece has its own merit and can stand on its own. I like how all the pieces work together: the simplicity of the desk, the sexy shape of the desk chair, the sculptural form of the side chairs."

Strategies for chic ways to integrate family photos and memorabilia into this space:

  • "Use them sparingly, and with a mixture of other stylish and interesting objects."

Design elements Kris Jenner insist on:

  • Kris insisted that every piece be important and chic enough to stand on its own. Pretty good direction!

Jeff Andrews Shares the Inspirations and Sources Behind This Gorgeous Library

Los Angeles-based Jeff Andrews has designed homes for Ryan Seacrest and America Ferrera, among other clients, and his timeless, elegant, and inspired designs are a hit with design fans, shelter magazines, and design insiders.

Los Angeles-based Jeff Andrews has designed homes for Ryan Seacrest and America Ferrera, among other clients, and his timeless, elegant, and inspired designs are a hit with design fans, shelter magazines, and design insiders. One of his most recent projects is featured in the May issue of Traditional Home, which will hit newsstands on April 17.

Today, Jeff is sharing a preview of one of the rooms featured in the magazine with us — a lovely library. Jeff reveals the inspiration behind the design, and the process of creating the look with us. Keep reading to get inspired to make changes in your home library space!

Deciding upon the color palette

  • The wood paneling was an existing element and rather than fight it, I decided to just go with it. The area rug is the one and only piece that the clients brought with them from their previous residence, and luckily it found a great home in here. I chose colors that enhanced the rug and wood paneling stain color and the rest followed.

On the repetition of curvaceous lines in the space

  • When I started the project, this room seemed so linear and flat. I didn’t purposefully add "curves," but as the design process evolved, I was drawn to patterns that added movement and life to the space. It’s interesting how in design, sometimes things are selected individually and end up working in harmony to create an overall feel.

Using two tables in this space

  • The writing desk is used daily by the homeowners for correspondence and the other table is used as a library/game table, which I could see being used for her and her friends for a glass of chardonnay, or him and his buddies for a game of poker.

Creating animal intrigue for vegan clients

  • One of the only restrictions given to me by my client was no fur, leather, or animal products as they are vegan. But knowing their love for animals, as I shopped to accessorize their home, I was drawn to animal motifs. I didn’t set out to create a "zoo," but throughout the house you’ll see touches of real animal love!

The story behind that gorgeous desk chair

  • The first day I shopped with the client we went to a showroom sale and picked up several pieces, and this little gem happened to be one of them. It’s one of the few pieces in the room that is not vintage.

Where to commission a painting as lovely as the one in this library.

  • I sourced this painting from a local artist, Angela Dickerson-Lee, who also happens to have an amazing vintage store, Bonita Interiors, at the Pasadena Antique Center. She’s got a great eye.

On where to source the gorgeous pouf

  • It’s a Jeff Andrews-Design original.

Input from the homeowners

  • It needed to be comfortable, kid- and animal-friendly, timeless, and completely finished and move-in ready by the time it was complete. It also had to be on budget and done within six months. Check!

Jeff Andrews Calls It Mellow Yellow

In the premiere issue of the new Traditional Home/Lonny digital magazine hybrid Trad Home, one of the 20 designers heralded for ushering in a "new trad" design style is one of my personal favorites: Jeff Andrews.

In the premiere issue of the new Traditional Home/Lonny digital magazine hybrid Trad Home, one of the 20 designers heralded for ushering in a "new trad" design style is one of my personal favorites: Jeff Andrews. Trad Home gives us a peek at a cozy living room Andrews designed for a client with a young family. There are plenty of elements to swoon over, like velvet upholstery, a plush shag rug, and a foursome of starburst mirrors, but what I'm truly coveting is the mellow yellow color palette!

A mix of chartreuse textiles, gilded furniture and accessories, and layers of dark greens paired with two shades of green paint come together perfectly to create a dimensional, engaging, and relaxed space. The surest way to replicate this look is to pick up some groovy green paint swatches and then head straight to the fabric shop to have your furniture upholstered. But I thought I'd start you off with a few mellow yellow décor items that tell this color story; click each item above to shop the look!

Casa Interview: Getting to Know Jeff Andrews

Earlier today I brought you a Designer Spotlight on the remarkably talented LA-based interior designer Jeff Andrews.

Earlier today I brought you a Designer Spotlight on the remarkably talented LA-based interior designer Jeff Andrews. Andrews's work is truly inspiring and never ceases to impress me, so I reached out to Jeff to get to know him a little better and hear about his latest projects and his challenges as a designer. Read my interview below!

CasaSugar: What projects are you working on now?

Jeff Andrews: I am working on the Showtime Showcase House in New York. The room I'm designing is inspired by the Showtime series Dexter. The house opens in September. I am also designing a home for Kris Jenner, which will be amazing. She is an inspiration. Finishing up a home for Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian Odom . . . love them! Designing a beachfront home for my best friend and client Jennifer Messer (our fourth project together) and a condo project for TV host Marc Summers and his wife, Alice. Things are busy around here! I am blessed.

CS: How would you describe the style of your own home?

JA: Kind of a mix of styles. I like to be surrounded by things I love . . . cool art, pottery, great fabrics, and dark, rich colors. My furniture is a range of Danish modern, Deco, and flea market hodge-podge. My home has evolved with my taste. It is almost time for a new one . . . damn that evolution!

CS: What's your biggest challenge when taking on a new project?

JA: Fitting it all in. I want to have the time to devote to the design process with each client. Details are so important. When juggling several projects, which are all at different phases, it can be a challenge. I'm a perfectionist and sometimes time is not my friend.

Designer Spotlight: Jeff Andrews

Back in April, I shared an exclusive sneak peek of Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's office from Los Angeles-based interior designer Jeff Andrews, which you all seemed to love!

Back in April, I shared an exclusive sneak peek of Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's office from Los Angeles-based interior designer Jeff Andrews, which you all seemed to love! Needless to say, this Designer Spotlight is long overdue, as Andrews is one of the most talented and sought-after designers around — as well as one of my favorites.

You may already be familiar with Andrews's work, as it has appeared in the pages of Architectural DigestMetropolitan HomeHouse BeautifulVogue LivingCalifornia Home + Design, and more. He has trotted the globe designing properties in the Hollywood Hills, Malibu, the Hamptons, Minnesota, Beverly Hills, Manhattan, and Rome for celebs like Ryan Seacrest, America Ferrera, Michael C. Hall, and more.

Andrews's signature style blends an eclectic mix of modern and vintage pieces for a high-design look that's contemporary and comfortable, while incredibly sophisticated. Inspired by nature, he incorporates accessories made of natural elements like wood and stone and colors keyed to outdoor landscapes. Often using monochrome palettes, he lets intriguing shapes, alluring finishes, and captivating patterns do the talking, with one-of-a-kind artwork and statement-making accessories bringing personality to his interiors. Catering to his clients' unique lifestyles and needs, Andrews's designs focus as much on functional solutions as they do on personal style — and that, my friends, is what makes a house a home.

Check out some of Andrews's work below and stay tuned for my exclusive interview with him!

CasaSugar Exclusive! Get the Look of Khloe Kardashian's Office With Tips From Designer Jeff Andrews

Jeff Andrews is one of the most talented and sought-after interior designers in Los Angeles, so I am very excited that he's brought us a look at one of his latest projects: the new home of Khloe Kardashian!

Jeff Andrews is one of the most talented and sought-after interior designers in Los Angeles, so I am very excited that he's brought us a look at one of his latest projects: the new home of Khloe Kardashian! Today, Jeff brings us an exclusive peek at her newly decorated home office and shows you how to get this luxurious look! Check it out below!

When I first met Khloe Kardashian in late 2009, I knew we would work well together. Our mutual friend and my client Ryan Seacrest made the introduction, and we hit it off right away. Khloe's style is young, fresh, and glamorous, but she also appreciates traditional styles and influences. So one of the great challenges that we tackled together on this collaboration was striking the right balance. The end result? A "glam-traditional" pad for her and husband Lamar Odom to relax and entertain family and friends. The overall style of the home, perfectly represented by her office, is sophisticated, upscale, and livable all at the same time.

  1. Desk chair. This chair is from a designer, trade-only showroom. Occasionally, this type of store will open their doors to consumers to buy direct. Keep an eye out for these (the LA Mart in Los Angeles has one coming up soon) and choose a showroom floor model. You can get high-end style and refinement at a fraction of the price.
  2. Guest chairs. These are vintage chairs Khloe owned but didn’t love. Rather than be wasteful, I found two great fabrics, one with subtle sparkle and one solid, and reupholstered the chairs. Reusing and repurposing furniture and accessories is a great way to be green! It is also a great way to save money. You can reupholster on literally any budget from DIY to high-end. Another tip is to use the same fabric, again in two ways, to make custom throw pillows. You can find fabric at so many locations from craft stores to flea markets to places like the fashion district in downtown Los Angeles.

Desire to Inspire has a sneak peek into Ryan Seacrest's home, which was recently featured in Architectural Digest courtesy of LA interior designer Jeff Andrews. It's fairly traditional and a tad rustic with a calm color scheme. It's a bit cluttered I'd say, but has some nice unexpected touches like a gold-leaf wall sculpture and a beautiful ladder back chair.
