I'm a sucker for an x-based base on almost anything that will stand, really, and Horchow's Lucille writing desk ($2,499) is no exception. The look is a fusion of contemporary and traditional, which I love. Natural, lime-oak finish seems to add a bit of soul to the clean silhouette. Still, the price point is a little hard to swallow. I was thrilled to find a look-alike at a much more affordable price.
Textile designer Lulu de Kwiatkowski's bold colors and handprinted geometric designs have long been a favorite of mine — as well as A-listers like Courteney Cox-Arquette and Diane von Furstenberg. So I'm excited to announce that the artist has debuted an exclusive dinnerware collection for Neiman Marcus. The store approached Lulu to translate images from her book LULU into china, and she wholeheartedly agreed! "China is a perfect medium for me to create my whimsical handpainted and collaged designs," she says. The collection is available at Neiman Marcus and Horchow and includes plates, bowls, mugs, and chargers with her signature hand-drawn, nature-inspired watercolors, bold patterns, and vibrant hues. Come take a look!
Fitting all iPhone and iPod models, you can rock out to your favorite tunes while enjoying the fact that you helped to do your part (however small) for nature this Summer.
Today's the day! And I mean it. Today only, Horchow is offering 25 percent off all online orders! You've got 'til 6 a.m. tomorrow to get your shop on. Just enter the code SPRINGHC at checkout to snag the savings. Since Horchow is an upscale shop, some of you maybe be thinking,"25 percent off thousands of dollars isn't exactly a deal." But recently I've noticed a number of quite affordable and fabulous décor and furniture pieces in the shop. Two of my favorites in particular are the Crewel Ottoman ($119, $89 on sale, left) and the Moroccan Pouf ($199, $149 on sale, right); they're just begging to come home to my living room! If you don't fancy a footstool, there's plenty more to shop. Check out my picks below:
Horchow has kicked off its semiannual lighting event, and I'm giddy like a kid in a candy store! Through Monday at 6 a.m. CST, you can save 20 percent on all lighting in the shop by entering the code LIGHTS at checkout. Better yet, all your bright new things will ship for free!
The sale includes literally every sort of lamp, from chandeliers to sconces to ceiling fans. One of my favorites is this new Marakesh Pendant ($716, reduced from $895), which has a beautiful, delicate filigree. I like how it's inspired by Moroccan design, but it also has a contemporary, Western feel.
Here are a few more of my favorite light fixtures from the sale:
Award-season favorite The King's Speech clearly has a lot going for it: a riveting peek into history, a talented A-list cast, and a whopping 12 Oscar nominations. But what I can't get over are its beautiful sets, which run the gamut from ornate, royal interiors to modest depression-era homes. My favorite, though, is speech therapist Lionel Logue's (Geoffrey Rush) office, where some of the funniest and most intimate scenes in the movie take place. Want to know how you can re-create the office's unique interiors in your own home? Keep reading.
The second issue of Horchow@Home Magazine launches tomorrow, and features the home of Trey Hoffman, senior art director at the magazine.
Horchow gave CasaSugar a sneak peek of Trey's cool home, which features an eclectic mix of furniture and decor that incorporates his love of family heirlooms and items he's collected while traveling. In the issue, Trey also offers advice on quick ideas for updating a room. Keep reading to check out more photos from Hoffman's home, as well as learn about the magazine's new contest.
After opening an ungodly amount of Christmas presents each year, it baffles me how we can all continue to shop, rushing to stores for post-Christmas sales or spending hours online in search of "what we really wanted." Just enter the code REFLECT at checkout to snag the deal. From paintings to tapestries to mirrors, there's plenty to choose from and lots to lust after. I'm particularly loving this set of Four Fretwork Mirrors ($236, reduced from $295). They've got a diva chinoiserie-style and would bring a little shimmer and pattern to an empty wall. I'm dreaming about the tall and lean Waldo Floor Lamp ($900, reduced from $1,125, second from left) with its turned wood inspired brass base; I can name a dozen spots in my home where it would fit right in.
