Deck Chairs So Comfortable You Won't Even Notice the Sunset

We have Canada to thank for lots of wonderful things — hockey, Keanu Reeves, and maple syrup, for starters — but our favorite things currently coming from north of the border are the newest offerings from furniture company Gallant & Jones.

We have Canada to thank for lots of wonderful things — hockey, Keanu Reeves, and maple syrup, for starters — but our favorite things currently coming from north of the border are the newest offerings from furniture company Gallant & Jones. Using eco-friendly North American white oak, the girls behind Gallant & Jones have been making low-slung, very comfortable folding deck chairs (from $235) for a few years now but just released their Spring/Summer line, which we are loving. Stripes, dots, and woven patterns, oh, my! Come on, Summer — hurry up and get here so that we can relax already.

Discover Our Favorite Garden Accessory to Plant Right Now

We're happy to present a post from Stylelist Home!

We're happy to present a post from Stylelist Home!

Fall does not officially hit until September 22nd, but we are already in August and many of our perennial blooms have been there and done their thing. Perfect time to introduce the sometimes overlooked Sedum plant to your garden to give you that push over the summer edge. The unusual Sedum family, commonly known as stonecrop, are leaf succulents grown in zones 3-10 varying from creeping to upright and almost shrub like. What makes their foliage texturally different from most perennials in your garden bed is their thick rubbery appearance, which is because their leaves are actually storing water. Besides having fascinating leaf structures, they bloom midsummer and some into late fall with a blanket of tight open faced stars in shades ranging from cream to mauve to yellow.

Click here for details on how to keep your Sedum plants alive and creative ways to implement them in your decor!

Having a Green Thumb Could Give You a Red Rash

Planting your own vegetable garden is fun and rewarding, not to mention a money-saver when it comes to all the veggies it produces.

Planting your own vegetable garden is fun and rewarding, not to mention a money-saver when it comes to all the veggies it produces. If you're new to gardening, then you may want to know a surprising fact. For some people, touching the leaves, stems, or veggies of certain plants can result in a red, dotty, itchy rash known as contact dermatitis. It can happen with zucchini, cucumber, pumpkins, or other plants that have prickly hairs on their vines. The rash can appear where the contact occurred on your skin, or it can show up on other areas of your body. To see what the rash looks like, just read more

H&M Garden Collection First Look From Fab

We're not the only ones excited about H&M's Garden Collection; FashionWithoutGuilt has been setting her timers.

We're not the only ones excited about H&M's Garden Collection; FashionWithoutGuilt has been setting her timers.

I can hardly contain myself. The arrive date is near for the long awaited Garden Collection from H&M. I am like OCD when it comes down to something that I really want and I know that there is a limited supply.

I have called H&M at least 10 times in the past two weeks just to make sure that I have not missed a beat. I have even set a reminder on my work calendar so that I can call right as the store opens to put certain items on hold. And here are some pictures from my computer as proof:

How Does My Garden Grow? (Answer: Not With Compost.)

Canine common sense tells you to just say no to cocoa mulch, since cocoa equals chocolate, which equals poison to pets.

Canine common sense tells you to just say no to cocoa mulch, since cocoa equals chocolate, which equals poison to pets. But what about those of you eco-conscious consumers who compost on a daily basis? As it turns out, then using that waste to grow a garden can be very dangerous to pets! It makes sense as compost can include coffee, moldy food, and rotting versions of already poisonous fruits and veggies, but still holds in that appealing smell to be dug right up again . . . along with your precious plants. Stay safe and stow compost out of paws' reach and noses' range so everything will keep coming up roses!

Recession Garden Substitutes For People Short on Space

We're all looking for ways to slash bills without sacrificing too much, and many Americans are turning to gardening as a way to save money on groceries while eating fresh produce.

We're all looking for ways to slash bills without sacrificing too much, and many Americans are turning to gardening as a way to save money on groceries while eating fresh produce. Besides the cost-effective factor, growing your own herbs and vegetables is an eco-friendly habit. According to Mike Metallo, spokesman for the National Gardening Association, "a $70 investment in a garden will yield $600 in produce for the year." Turn gardening into a hobby by getting others involved in the process from planting to picking.

While I would love to have a garden to call my own, my tiny city apartment on the sixth floor restricts my hope of having anything that grows outside. That doesn't mean I can't participate in the revitalized trend of homegrown produce; it just means I won't be saving $600 a year on the limited range of goodies I can grow from my kitchen. I've rounded up some cool gadgets that allow apartment dwellers to channel their green thumbs and enjoy fresh herbs or tomatoes.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

It's the first day of spring, and my thoughts are turning towards fresh veggies and bright colors.

It's the first day of spring, and my thoughts are turning towards fresh veggies and bright colors. Normally it's the appetizers and main courses that get the spring treatment, but this year, dessert can play along too. This Garden Patch Cakelet Pan ($34) is a garden-themed cake pan that features rows of carrots, cauliflower, radishes and peas. It would make the most adorable petit-fours and hey, maybe it'll get your little ones (or big ones) to finally eat their veggies.

Miracle Grow a Pet in Your Garden?

I'm no stranger to hedges groomed like animals or other shapes that do not occur in nature and acheiving that result is easier than ever.

I'm no stranger to hedges groomed like animals or other shapes that do not occur in nature and acheiving that result is easier than ever. Coming in three varieties for different planting options, you can opt to get your pet topiary pre-filled with moss seeds (think Chia Pet), add seeds yourself (think Miracle-Gro), or choose to add other adornments (think costumes and holiday lights). But just because someone makes it, doesn't mean you need to buy it... does it?

I'm curious to know – if price was no object, how likely am I to see this in your backyard garden:
