Jillian Harris and Molly Mesnick Collaborate on a Modern Gender-Neutral Nursery

It seems like just yesterday that we shared the details of The Bachelor season 13 contestant Molly Mesnick's baby shower.

It seems like just yesterday that we shared the details of The Bachelor season 13 contestant Molly Mesnick's baby shower. Fast-forward a few months, and Molly and Jason Mesnick are now parents to baby Riley Anne and are proudly showing off the nursery they designed with a lot of help from their good friend — and former Bachelorette star — Jillian Harris.

"I knew that I wanted the room to feel crisp, fresh, and not-so-baby. Not knowing the gender of baby Mesnick, I also wanted the colors to be neutral," Molly shared. "Jillian took my feedback and a few examples of rooms I liked from Pinterest to come up with the most incredible vision board."

The resulting nursery is a beautiful mix of modern and classic with neutral colors that didn't scream yellow. Click through to see all of the fine details found throughout the room.

A Stylish, Chevron-Silhouette Second Birthday Party

Oklahoma-based photographer Jenny Collier knew she wanted to keep her daughter's second birthday party small but also stylish.

Oklahoma-based photographer Jenny Collier knew she wanted to keep her daughter's second birthday party small but also stylish. "I had recently done my children's silhouettes and fell in love," Jenny says. "I knew I had to incorporate that into the design." Add in some chic chevron details, kraft paper, and lots of DIY projects, and the scene was set. But Jenny's party planning was far from finished. "I sat down and made a list of all of the things Ella loves: her favorite songs, her favorite foods, and her favorite things (jumping, coloring, bubbles, and balloons)," she says. "I wanted Ella to really enjoy all aspects of the party, and what better way than for her to have all of her favorite things?" Keep clicking for the beautiful results!

Modern Twist on Decorating with Wall Plates

I love mixing a traditional concept like wall plates with a modern element. Adding  bright, fun, patterned plates and a simple monogrammed center plate to your wall creates a dynamic focal point to any room. Choose a neutral monochromatic color scheme for a twist on tradition or choose bright vibrant colors for a big impact! I created this look for our home and loved the result so much I offer the customizable version in my shop. Find the wall collection here along with all sorts of other goodies at my site Aedriel

Deviate From Your Standard Table With a Chevron Pattern

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member h2urHome from the Su Casa group.

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member h2urHome from the Su Casa group.

Since I'm pretty excited about Target launching Missoni's line, I thought I'd do my take on chevrons! This table started out as your standard oak Walmart table I bought years ago. It's been painted white, and now it's being given the chevron treatment!

6 Chevron Trays to Catch All and Catch Eyes!

Chevron patterns are all the rage these days.
Stylish Chevron and Zigzag Trays

Chevron patterns are all the rage these days. But as much as I'm zealous for zigzags, I'm not quite prepared to follow the painted chevron wall trend. A happy medium that's equally eye-catching is a chevron tray. Whether you use them to serve up sweet and savory treats at a cocktail party or to organize your everyday odds and ends, there's bound to be a place in your home for the nonlinear stripes.

Cool Idea: DIY Chevron Curtains

Maybe it's the innate sense of entitlement I have as a member of Gen Y, but I never liked the phrase, "you can't have it all."

Maybe it's the innate sense of entitlement I have as a member of Gen Y, but I never liked the phrase, "you can't have it all." Even if it means attaining the things I want in an unconventional way, I strongly believe I can have it all! Case in point: Elizabeth of Peacock Feather's new chevron curtains. Elizabeth wanted a bold pattern to bring together all of the beautiful elements in her bedroom and dreamed of a black and white chevron print on her windows. But, she says, "the idea of sourcing fabric and having full-length drapes sewn seemed like way too much money and time." So instead of looking for a knockoff of a pricey fabric like Rubie Green's chevron East Village pattern, she decided to DIY exactly what she wanted. She picked up some basic white cotton curtains from Ikea for $15 per pair and took to the fabric with semi-gloss acrylic black paint and a 4-inch trim roller, simply painting her desired zig-zag pattern herself! Now that's my kind of girl!

Assisted Living: Pink Chevron Upholstery Fabric

CasaSugar Community member ll1019 recently posted this query in the Assisted Living group:

"I have scoured the Internet for pink chevron fabric that I could use to reupholster a chair. I have found pretty much every color but not pink! Has anyone seen this fabric on the Internet? Alternatively, are there any good websites that sell fun upholstery prints? Since this is my first project, I would prefer something inexpensive (not Rubie Green). Thanks!"
