Wall Decals

I'm kind of over the wall decal trend, even though I myself was guilty as charged about two years ago. They're a bit gimmicky, especially those with a trompe l'oeil effect. But I must admit, the wall décor is a great option for renters. I was delighted to come across a more sophisticated alternative, these Room Stripes Wall Decals ($40) from Walls Need Love.

Available in a couple dozen colors and your choice of width, the stripes look just like painted stripes, but they're removable and reusable! So they're perfect for renters and anyone planning to move in the near future. Are you over the whole decal craze? Yeah, I kind of am, too. But these playful staircases have me thinking about giving it another try. When a plain entryway could use a little dressing up, a simple and creative solution is to put a few sticky studs on a staircase. Counting your way upstairs or skipping over zebra print makes for a much more enjoyable trip than blank wooden slats. Don't you think?

I recently discovered I have a love/hate relationship with wall decals. I am tempted to buy one, but have a feeling that I'll find one I love, spend all day applying it, then get sick of it shortly thereafter. Why take the plunge if you're already doubting your intentions?
