  • "Are you kidding? If you have a social conscience, you have to vote Obama," declared Tom Ford at a fundraiser for the president's campaign in London, which he cohosted with Anna Wintour. [WWD]

  • Tommy Hilfiger will partner with hotelier Vikram Chatwal when Chatwal acquires 30 percent of the historic Plaza Hotel in New York City, according to reports. Should Hilfiger ever have to deal with the hotel's business directly, it'll be an easy commute to the office: he and his wife Dee already live there. [Page Six]

  • Calvin Klein tapped blogger Greta Larkins of FashGif to create moving images of the brand's Spring 2013 collection for its Tumblr. Our favorite so far is a black dress whose breast panels move up and down its shoulder straps. [Styleite]

  • The apple never falls that far from the tree. Betsey Johnson's daughter Lulu is staring her own fashion line, called Lulu and Allison, for "women who still want to be hip, sexy, and cool." [Racked]

  • For a fashion person, Erin Wasson doesn't shop much for garments. "I shop a lot more for furniture than I do for clothes," she says. "I much prefer going to an antique shop full of obscurities." [Elle.com]

OnSugar Blog: Eloise at the Plaza

Lots of moms like to think out loud and PatiBF is one of them.

Lots of moms like to think out loud and PatiBF is one of them. She's sharing the latest post from her Baby Style blog about the Eloise suite at the Plaza hotel. It looks like Sarah isn't the only lil girl to love the precocious tot!

Last summer the Eloise Suite debuted at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. If your little girl is a fan of the famed Eloise series, a chance to stay in Eloise's very own suite designed by fashion icon Betsey Johnson would be a dream come true. Of course, the dream will cost you, a night at the preciously pink plaza suite starts at $1,125. For those looking for more reasonable options you can swing by the Eloise gift shop at The Plaza and even enjoy an Eloise tea party! Sounds like fun to me.

Betsey Johnson's Eloise-Themed Plaza Suite Opens Its Doors!

Back in September, I announced that Betsey Johnson would be diving headfirst into her first hotel collaboration, designing an Eloise-themed suite for The Plaza Hotel.

Back in September, I announced that Betsey Johnson would be diving headfirst into her first hotel collaboration, designing an Eloise-themed suite for The Plaza Hotel. Now, the time has finally come, and the pinker-than-pink two-bedroom suite has officially opened its doors! Dressed with sweet pink candy striped wallpaper, gilded French chairs and headboards upholstered in the designer's signature rose prints, girlish dangly crystal chandeliers, tutus hanging in the closet, and framed portraits of Kay Thompson's fabled protagonist, the suite is every little girl's dream. And a dream come true it can be — for a price. A stay in the luxury suite for as many as four little Fifth Avenue princesses runs $995 a night, and includes a monogrammed Eloise bathrobe, a $100 gift card to the hotel's Eloise gift shop, an Eloise camera, a framed photo of the guest inside the suite, and an Eloise book. Chaperones can book the adjoining room for a total of $2,045, and be treated to champagne and truffles. Oh — what I would have given!

Harper's Bazaar

Harper's Bazaar Tours Tommy Hilfiger's New Plaza Hotel Home

The August issue of Harper's Bazaar features an interview and a magnificent spread with Tommy and Dee Hilfiger about their new home in the Plaza Hotel in New York.

The August issue of Harper's Bazaar features an interview and a magnificent spread with Tommy and Dee Hilfiger about their new home in the Plaza Hotel in New York. With his children from his first marriage grown up and a new addition in the family, Tommy decided to sell his $28 million Greenwich, CT, home and move into something smaller. But don't get any ideas . . . the new digs are by no means a "downsize." Every room in the apartment is gorgeously outfitted from head to toe in traditional, on-brand décor that complements the building's Old World style. Here are a few excerpts from the interview:

  • Dee, on their vision: "We tried to incorporate as much of the history of the building as we could. From Marilyn Monroe to the Beatles to Jackie O., it makes you think, if these walls could talk . . ."
  • Tommy, on their vision: "We had a vision to create an old-world atmosphere complementing the old-world Plaza."
  • Tommy, on the move: "We were living in an enormous house in Connecticut. It was way too big. Our children are out and about in the world, and we have only a baby at home now. It’s cozier."
  • Dee, on decorating together: "We have bought almost all of the furniture together. We like to go shopping on the weekends. It’s been a real collaboration."
