The supersoft fabric also comes in a spectrum of moody pastel tones (20 to be exact), making them more versatile than you might think. Plus, the stone wash ensures that they get even softer over time. We're tempted to buy a set in lilac, mauve, and orchid for an ombré effect that works especially well with gray earthenware.

Tell us, which color would you be tempted to bring home?

  • Simple: Bratt Decor's Joy Baby Crib ($495) is part of the brand's lower-priced collection, Stephen Bauer Baby.  Its geometrical circles and satin finish make this affordable alternative a fresh pick for either a traditional or modern nursery.
  • Swank: RH Baby & Child's Milbrook Iron Crib ($849) has a nostalgic design inspired by an antique. The vintage white finish with distressed details gives the crib a timeworn look.

Restoration Hardware's Outdoor Summer Sale

Can you believe that we're already halfway through the month of July?

Can you believe that we're already halfway through the month of July? Summer's such a precious and fleeting season that you really must spend every possible moment outdoors. What better way enjoy the season than by lounging on a beautiful new piece of outdoor furniture? Restoration Hardware has all of its outdoor furniture lines on sale, and I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite.

However, if forced to choose, I'd definitely pick up this Lawn Bowling Set. (middle row, middle image, originally $200, on sale for $100). The lawn bowling set includes 10 pins and two balls, all carved from solid acacia wood, which are housed in a sturdy rattan woven basket.

Of course, if you really want to splurge, the 19th Century Cotton Trolley Table (bottom row, right, originally $1,450, on sale for $1,050) is a perfect choice. Crafted from reclaimed elm and rugged powdercoated steel, the trolley works for outdoor entertaining, but would be equally lovely in an industrial-inspired living room.

Assisted Living: A Cheaper Buckle Chair

Recently, CasaSugar Community member Colbie wrote into the Assisted Living group looking for an affordable alternative to the Restoration Hardware Buckle Chair ($815).

Recently, CasaSugar Community member Colbie wrote into the Assisted Living group looking for an affordable alternative to the Restoration Hardware Buckle Chair ($815). Having just moved into a new home, she's trying to budget for several pieces, and while she'd love to splurge on the chair, its price is nearly as much as the sofa she's had her eye on as well.

While I scoured my usual sources (and then some) for something similar, I had a hard time coming up with anything that's a near match to the Restoration Hardware chair (which is absolutely gorgeous). The Anthropologie Rhys Chair ($2,500) has a similar buckle detail, but it costs a lot more than the Restoration Hardware chair. I found an Arne Norell Safari Chair on 1stDibs that has buckles, but since a potential buyer needs to contact the dealer for pricing information, I'm not hopeful about the cost.

Here are two cheaper options: For a leather chair without buckles, consider the Urban Outfitters Leather Butterfly Chair ($250). It looks great in person and is getting good reviews online. Currently on eBay is this Danish Safari Chair. It's similar to the 1stDibs chair, but at a lower price point. You also have the option of buying it now for about $330 plus shipping. Good luck!

DIY: Restoring and Repurposing Your Old Books

I love books — reading them, perusing them, stacking them, and decorating with them.

I love books — reading them, perusing them, stacking them, and decorating with them. New ones that crack when you open them for the first time are like stepping into a new pair of Jimmy Choos. Finding an old one at a bookstore that has storytelling wear is like hopping into a pair of comfy old house slippers.

Both are equally as good. The latter are perhaps even better because they're usually a fraction of the cost, which is why I can't fathom paying a bundle for a bundle of used texts. I love the look of these Restoration Hardware Antique Coverless Book Bundles ($29), but I knew I could re-create the look for myself for less than $7.

Come check out my copycat look.

Love It or Hate It? Spartan Daybed

Restoration Hardware's new Spartan Daybed ($6,000) reminds me a lot of the marvelous egg chair at the Mexican resort in the Sex and the City movie — but makes a much louder statement.

Restoration Hardware's new Spartan Daybed ($6,000) reminds me a lot of the marvelous egg chair at the Mexican resort in the Sex and the City movie — but makes a much louder statement. With its modern, sculptural shape, the hand-woven wicker cocoon looks inspired by the curvy designs of Karim Rashid. My favorite thing about it is the little (well, big) peephole; you can just imagine anyone who can afford this cher chair probably has a crave-worthy view to go along with it. Do you love it or hate it?
