Make Masterful Lists With These Pretty Tablets
Just this weekend I lost my Post-It note grocery list not once but four times in between my front door and the checkout line. If only I'd had a more substantial, organized list, perhaps I'd have remembered to grab ginger, chives, and dish detergent, instead of having to make a separate trip later that evening.
Luckily, we can depend on Knock Knock to come up with something to satisfy our list-making needs. The company's new tablets, including this To the Market Tablet ($10), would've been the perfect solution to my Post-It woes last Sunday.
There are plenty of other varieties of tablets, too, for all of your organizing needs, and every variety of tablet is made from 100 percent recycled paper and soy ink. Plus, the convenient perforated pages mean that you can easily rip out a list to carry it with you for on-the-go to-do-list tackling.
In addition to the To the Market and Around the House Tablet ($10, seen above), the company has also recently released a Bon Voyage Tablet ($10) for trip-making needs as well as an Accomplished Tablet ($10) for ticking off your needed daily or weekly tasks.
Casa Quickie: Two-Step Artwork
My seriously creative cousin just moved into a new apartment in Manhattan and has been sending me photos of her decorating progress. She's always had the interior design bug, and is constantly busy with one DIY or another. So when I spotted this elephant map artwork on her desk, I was sure it was a collage that she'd made. Turns out, it's far from it! She simply picked up a piece of Cavallini Gift Wrap ($4.50) from Kate's Paperie and slipped it inside a readymade poster frame. Presto! I love it and I never would have guessed! Plus, the green hues pick up the color from her desk chair nicely, don't you think?

The Card Shop: Cute Tape
If, like me, your thumb resembles the color of coal more than grass, the best way you can Spring-ify your living/working space may be with the addition of fun, fresh office accessories. I love Japanese and Korean stationery stores because they are always bursting with bite-size stickers, playful paper, and everyday supplies in unexpected shapes and colors. Online arts and craft shop Cute Tape carries everything from puppy-shaped post-it notes ($10) to envelopes with smiley faces ($6.50) to an impressive selection of that colorful Japanese masking tape I love. See some of the pretty goodies below.
The 12th DIY of Christmas: Paper Bulb Ornaments
My passion for decorative papers has gotten a bit out of hand lately, and I realized that my stack of patterned sheets needed to make a debut somewhere besides giftboxes this holiday. So, I whipped up these paper bulb ornaments with just a few supplies. It's a great last-minute project. You can hang them on your tree, drizzle them around your tabletop, or pile a bunch of them in a hurricane vase.
Supplies:
- Decorative paper (or thick wrapping paper will do!)
- Scissors, a paper-cutter, or an X-acto knife
- Brads (2 per ornament)
- A hole-punch
- Ribbon or twine, optional

Casa Verde(?): Fabriano
Italian designers Riccardo Nannini, Domenico Orefice, and Emanuele Pizzolorusso created Fabriano, a waste basket made entirely out of recycled paper. The muffin-cup-shaped basket consists of 50 pleated-paper disposable bags nesting inside one another. Each can be extracted and used as trash bags themselves when the bin is full, leaving the layer below ready to collect more paper/trash.
My first thought was that this is an eco-friendly alternative to plastic trash bags. But on second thought, I realized that it's a waste paper basket meant for paper, which would eventually be tossed in a recycling bin. So, it seems that the basket wastes more paper than necessary. But in the long run, a recycled paper bag, which can be recycled again, is more eco-friendly than, say, a standard waste basket, which would likely end up in a landfill when it's no longer needed. What do you think? Is this product eco-friendly?

DIY: Paper Wedding Table Settings
Preston Bailey is one of the world's premiere event designers, known for his elaborate tablescapes, whose theatric designs have festooned the events of Oprah Winfrey, Joan Rivers, and Donald Trump. You can catch a glimpse of some of those looks in his latest book, Celebrations ($37). But thanks to a new project by Bailey, his table settings needn't be something you can only read about in his book — or on Page Six. The Wedding Bell, one of the table settings in his book, which is also one of the most cost-effective, is made entirely out of paper. The look proves that you don't need an extravagant flower budget or a wedding planner to have stunning décor. Of course, you have to be crafty and prepared for a DIY. If you're up for the challenge, Bailey has put together a complete how-to guide and resource manual for you to create "the Wedding Bell." You can email Bailey to order a copy for yourself at a modest cost. But hurry, there are only 1,000 copies! Head here for more information, and check out more photos below.
Keegan Singh Works Menswear-Clad Vanessa Traina for Dossier
>> The third issue of Dossier with Lou Doillon on the cover doesn't launch until April 12 — launch party tomorrow night — but in the meantime, co-founder Skye Parrott passed along a peek at the innards: an editorial featuring Vanessa Traina in "the best menswear of the season," photographed by Paul Maffi and styled by Keegan Singh, who was just named one of Paper's Beautiful People for 2009 along with Kate Lanphear (who also styled for this issue of Dossier) — apparently they would only consent to do Paper as a duo, featured in the same picture.
The Dossier spread features Eddie Borgo jewelry, which seems to be a trend in Singh-styled editorials — and no wonder, since they live together — Borgo is his boyfriend. Other contents to look forward to within the upcoming Dossier: jewelry designer Pamela Love takes a turn as editorial stylist, and Valentine Fillol-Cordier interviews Charles Anastase.
