A Fantastic Flower- and Owl-Filled Baby Shower

Kim Stoegbauer of The TomKat Studio always creates inspired and adorable parties (her daughter's mermaid birthday bash is one of our favorites), but recently she threw out a challenge to her fellow party divas — located across the globe in Australia!

Kim Stoegbauer of The TomKat Studio always creates inspired and adorable parties (her daughter's mermaid birthday bash is one of our favorites), but recently she threw out a challenge to her fellow party divas — located across the globe in Australia! — to create stunning events using TomKat printables. Leoni Jena of Just Call Me Martha took her up on it and created an adorable owl-themed baby shower using some gorgeous, vintage-inspired florals, lovely sweets, and a beautiful tablescape. "She wanted to create a gender-neutral shower that was 'bright, funky, and unique,'" Kim says of Leoni's creation. "We are thrilled at how it turned out!" Whoooo Goes There?

Rescued Tawny Owls at RSPCA West Hatch Wildlife Centre

A group of owls is called a parliament, and these young'uns certainly must be holding court at the RSPCA's West Hatch Wildlife Centre in Taunton, England. Thirty-three baby birds found their way to the center between January and July, most likely due to the UK's turbulent weather this year. These tawny owlets are awaiting their release back into the wild . . . and hopefully not more ferocious wind!

Hoo'd Have Thought? A Magical Ancient Owl Background

The below video is evidence enough of just how darn cute owls are, and Harry Potter's pet owl, Hedwig, proved to be the most loyal of all owls.

The below video is evidence enough of just how darn cute owls are, and Harry Potter's pet owl, Hedwig, proved to be the most loyal of all owls. Adorableness aside, do you know why the nocturnal creatures are icons of wisdom in folklore? While in the Harry Potter movies, Hogwarts students could opt to bring owls to their dormitories, their legends go much further back through the ages.

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member Birdhouse Family from the Lovely Little Vignettes group: I created this little vignette on a desk I recently refinished for our guest bedroom.

Here's a post from CasaSugar Community member Birdhouse Family from the Lovely Little Vignettes group:

I created this little vignette on a desk I recently refinished for our guest bedroom. I made the storage container out of a soup can (read about that here). I already had the rest of the items on hand. I'm obviously a little obsessed with owls these days.

Have you created any decorating arrangements lately? Be sure to share your photos in the Lovely Little Vignettes group!

Owlet Cam: Get on "Egg Hatch Watch" With Molly

Spring has sprung, which means baby animals galore, yippee.

Spring has sprung, which means baby animals galore, yippee. Since one lil owl is featured in my newest faceoff, I can't seem to get enough. Luckily, there is a new webcam streaming live — no Shiba Inu puppies this time; it's gone to the birds!

Molly the owl recently laid six eggs, and they're all slated to hatch any day now. Thus far, the first babe, Max, is being cared for on camera, but keep watching and checking back to see the rest of the owlets enter the world.
