With top costume designers like Catherine Martin of The Great Gatsby and Trish Summerville of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, it's hard to ignore the stunning styles of this year's blockbuster hits, but that's not to say the small screen didn't hold its own in the fashion arena. Television favorites like Pretty Little Liars, Scandal, Nashville, and The Carrie Diaries have developed cult followings that extend well beyond the drama and love triangles. From sophisticated separates to more-is-more performance looks to mixed-print masterpieces, our favorite fashion-centric shows run the style gamut. While each of these primetime programs fills a different sartorial void, we're relying on your vote by Dec. 16 to help us decide which show should be crowned most fashionable for 2013!
With chart-topping hits like "Wrong Song" and "Love Like Mine," it's clear the cast of Nashville isn't lacking in the talent department — but what keeps us coming back every Wednesday night is the stunning fashion. From Rayna James's classic country separates to Juliette Barnes's sultry and sexy dresses to Scarlett O'Connor's boho-chic pairings, this show runs the sartorial gamut. Each week, we are tracking down the latest looks from our favorite country darlings, including exact pieces, and we're giving you a sneak peek at the looks from tonight's episode. So slip on your cowboy boots, grab a microphone — we can belt out the latest hits together — and get ready to fall under their style spell.
Supplying us with soulful songs, high-octane drama, and some serious designer looks, Nashville is quickly becoming one of our favorite fashion-centric shows. Each week we are tracking down the most dapper fashions donned by our favorite small-screen stars. This week, Scarlett (played by Clare Bowen) wowed in a fiery tulle skirt for her first tour, but even that couldn't upstage the real country queen, Ms. Rayna James (Connie Britton). The seasoned vet showered us with sexy sophistication working these lace-panel Stella McCartney leggings ($1,700) with a glistening metallic tank and mirrored pumps. Housing the perfect balance of elegance and edge, Rayna's sultry pants are an unexpected yet equally chic party substitute. Shop her exact leggings now to work with a leather cami and caged sandals, or mimic her style on a budget with this pair by David Lerner ($198).
We had more fun than we could handle when the lovely Judith Hoag stopped by our LA studio to talk about her sister-like relationship with Nashville costar Connie Britton. Judith dished on her exciting visit to the CMAs and her thoughts on Hayden Panettiere's character kissing another woman. Plus, she opened up about playing April O'Neil in the cult classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and shared her thoughts on Megan Fox taking on the role in the upcoming remake.
There are three reasons we tune into Nashville every Wednesday night: the stellar singing, the heart-pounding drama, and the bigger-is-better fashion. Each week we are tracking down the most fashionable ensembles donned by country singers Rayna James (played by Connie Britton) and Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), along with similar items to help you re-create your favorite Nashville looks. While we are hoping tonight's episode brings answers for Rayna's pending career, we couldn't help but notice the statement-making 7 For All Mankind jeans ($395) she worked on stage. Though Rayna doubled up on shimmer by topping her sassy skinny jeans with this embellished L'Agence tank ($325), the dual-textured denim — metallic tweed front and solid, body-slimming back — will liven up the most basic of blouses. Take a cue from this country crooner, and shop her exact pants pronto.
Nashville returns to TV tonight! We had a chance to catch up with Gunnar Scott himself, Sam Palladio, just a few weeks ago at ABC's TCA cocktail party. Sam has had a rare opportunity to combine his musical and acting talents in one place on the show, and talked with us about the success of the series, a singer-songwriter he hopes will make a guest appearance on an episode soon, and his creative off-screen pursuits. Sam says he's working on a new EP — it will be his debut CD — and told us why he'll be enlisting his dad and brother in putting the finishing touches on the project.
Nashville's season premiere is tonight, but you don't have to wait to be reunited with the musical gang. After last season's cliffhangers, there are pictures teasing Rayna's status after the car crash and how Maddie is coping with the news that Deacon is actually her father. Click through to see all the pictures of the season two premiere, "I Fall to Pieces," and let us know if you'll be watching!
On Nashville, Hayden Panettiere plays a young up-and-comer in the country music business. While we're done watching the drama unfold for this season, Juliette Barnes's makeup looks are perfectly primed for the Summer season. Find out how to re-create these flattering looks from the show's head makeup artist, Erin Koplow. Plus, Hayden, a Brand Ambassador for Neutrogena, reveals her off-duty beauty regimen when you read more.
Tonight the season finale of Nashville airs, and as much as we're going to miss all of the talented cast of singing stars, we're really going to miss Wednesday nights filled with Connie Britton on our TV as Rayna Jaymes and her enviable head of hair.
Whether she's performing on stage, at home with her daughters, or dueling it out with Juliette Barnes, Rayna does it all with cascading waves that fall ever so perfectly. Click through for a sneak at tonight's episode, along with scenes showcasing Rayna's best asset: her hair!
Nashville's freshman season comes to an end this week, and if these sneak peek pictures are any indication, it's going to be a very emotional episode. Juliette must attend her mother's funeral, so it's a good thing Rayna comes to stand by her side. It makes me think back to the beginning of the series when these two women were at such odds. On a lighter note, Brad Paisley is guest starring! Check out all the pictures.
