Get the Look: Sharon and Ozzy's Living Room

Martyn Lawrence Bullard of our favorite new Bravo addition Million Dollar Decorators told us on the first episode that he has decorated many an Osborne home. I especially adore this living room — it made its way to my list of inspiring spaces last week. While Ozzy may be the Prince of Darkness, this room is anything but gloomy. Clean white and sky-blue hues keep the space fresh and light. One of my favorite aspects of the room are those vintage barn doors from American Garage. They are a stylish way to separate the kitchen from the living room without going into serious renovation mode. The space truly reflects Sharon's style: effortlessly edgy with a feminine flair. This Ralph Lauren Wing Back Chair is a great example of the balance of Sharon's style. It has a rustic color, but the right amount of studded detail rocks out the look. It has a very similar vibe to the original chair Martyn selected for the space. They both look like perfect spots to curl up and lounge after a long day of work. Ellen Pompeo Opens Up Her Hollywood Home to Elle Decor

Elle Decor's May covergirl is none other than the lovely Ellen Pompeo. In the issue, Pompeo opens up her 1920s Spanish-style home in the Hollywood Hills, which was designed by renowned Los Angeles-based designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard. You may remember Lawrence-Bullard was chosen to design this past year's Primetime Emmy Awards Green Room, which was absolutely stunning. From the looks of it, Pompeo's home is equally glamorous, yet understated. Elle Decor says it has "a laid-back Mediterranean vibe," which seems absolutely fitting for the casual California gal and new mom!

Ellen on her ideal family home:

This house is perfect for our family. It’s all about swimming, eating, and hanging out with friends. Martyn jokes that we live like college kids—people are coming and going all the time. What can I say? It’s a happy place.

Martyn on designing a laid-back home for Ellen:

Ellen’s basically a very easy, relaxed person who likes her home to be easy and relaxed as well. There’s none of that star-diva craziness.

The issue also brings us a look at the home of another celebrated LA designer, Michael Smith, who was chosen to decorate the Obamas' White House. According to Elle Decor, Smith's Manhattan penthouse "pays tribute to its storied past with a masterfully elegant mix."

Before and After: The Primetime Emmy Awards Green Room

For the last eight years, Architectural Digest has had the unique pleasure of choosing a designer to design the green room for the Primetime Emmy Awards, which accommodates performers and speakers when they are not on stage.

For the last eight years, Architectural Digest has had the unique pleasure of choosing a designer to design the green room for the Primetime Emmy Awards, which accommodates performers and speakers when they are not on stage. This year the magazine chose award-winning Los Angeles-based designer Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, who has worked for the likes of Cher, Ed Norton, Christina Aguilera, William H. Macy, and Sir Elton John, among other famous faces. I thought it'd be fun to share the room's evolution from final sketch (shown above) to the fully furnished space that all the stars saw Sunday night. As you can see, the design is very Moroccan-inspired, and he decided to create a tented ceiling, which is also typical of Moroccan design. To see the finished product, read more
