Sweden, a design capital, is filled with stunning architecture and beautiful spaces. In the heart of Stockholm lies a historic, waterfront building where comfort and design go hand in hand. Although the entire home makes us swoon, the blend of rustic and modern interiors in the living room caught our eye. Complementing the building's Swedish architecture, chestnut leather and warm tones enhance the living room's contemporary pieces. If this Swedish pad listed for $2.89 million isn't in your budget, here's how you can achieve a similar look to this country-modern space.
There is something so special about the graceful shape of the lotus flower. But what's even more beautiful is the story of how the plants grow and develop: out of the muck at the bottom of a river or lake, deep-rooted and gnarled roots develop into an absolutely beautiful flower. The shape of the lotus has long been associated with zen thought and Eastern design. Enjoy these pieces of home décor that pay homage to the lovely lotus!
We recently installed a new mirror above our fireplace mantel.
I think the sunburst shape is modern and playful, while the antique silver finish adds old world charm.
The mirror also brings a lot more light into the living room by reflecting the south-facing light coming in through the foyer.
