Designed in 1968 by Italian architect and designer Roberto Menghi, the Globo di Luce Pendant ($1,355) is as captivating as it was 40 years ago. Blown glass defines the globe's shape, a transparent cable gives it the appearance of floating mid air, and its copper finish gives off a rich, warm light. It's practically solar. How To: Create an Eclectic Dining Nook (From an Art Industry Insider)

As the cofounder of The Tappan Collective, a site that connects up-and-coming artists with aspiring collectors, curating effortlessly cool environments is something that comes naturally to Chelsea Neman.

As the cofounder of The Tappan Collective, a site that connects up-and-coming artists with aspiring collectors, curating effortlessly cool environments is something that comes naturally to Chelsea Neman. Still, she tends to follow a foolproof formula when decorating her own space, and she applied this philosophy when designing her dining space. "I love mixing old and new while trying to stay clean and minimal. I think the combination of the two elements helps to personalize a space," says Neman.

One of the most striking elements of Neman's dining nook is her use of a family heirloom. "The settee was my grandmother's. When she passed, I kept it along with her whiskey glasses; she loved her black label," says Neman.

Vintage seating and a table complete the furnishings, while two abstract paintings (remnants of Neman's art-school days) dominate the wall. To top off the look, Neman places two rose bouquets of varying heights in vessels: a simple cylindrical vase and a white pitcher.

Love the look but don't have the patience to troll flea markets? Not to worry. Shop these items below to cultivate an uncontrived, artsy vibe for your dining space!
