You might be surprised to find me posting this At West End Dining Table ($895) as Crave Worthy. But, this style of farmhouse trestle table is truly a classic that is built to last. Of course, it would fit seamlessly in a traditional home, but it would also have staying power mixed with modern furnishings (perhaps some tulip chairs and a glass pendant) for an eclectic look. This particular table is handcrafted with solid Colombian hardwood reclaimed from salvaged buildings, which I'm sure will acquire a beautiful patina the longer you own it. It is available in a 48-inch round shape or a 40-x-62-inch rectangle.
According to Big Time, supermodel Carolyn Murphy has sold her four bedroom, three bath Brentwood, Los Angeles, home for $3.6 million. The 3,386-square-foot home at 330 S. Medio Drive was originally listed for $3,650,000 and sits on a 0.23-acre plot of land. The listing calls it a "meticulously restored 1920s Spanish" home, completed with "sensitivity to the original architecture." It features a chef's kitchen, a family room with vaulted beamed ceiling, patios, a large private yard, a sun-filled master bedroom with a beautiful bathroom, two walk-in closets, an office/artist studio, hardwood floors, original tiles, iron work, and a walled courtyard.
While I do find this home to be a bit stiff, architecturally, it's a gem, and it is tasteful despite not looking very hip. I particularly love the large circular window/doors seen from the exterior house, and who would complain about her larger-than-life kitchen? I should also note that she is quite au courant with her trendy suzani bedspread and antler chandelier.
Real Estalker notes that while Murphy's "bohemian chic contemporary house" was featured this Summer in the now extinct House & Garden, it's not the same home that has sold. She has moved since that issue of H&G, and rumor has it she will now move to a 3,321-square-foot house in Ojai, California.

It seems that getting back to hosting Late Night hasn't kept Conan O'Brien quite busy enough. The red-haired funny man has also been real estate shopping, and recently purchased a 6 bedroom, 8.5 bath New England Traditional-style gated home on Tigertail Road in Brentwood, California. This will be quite the geographic move for Mr. O'Brien and his family, who currently live in New York City at The Majestic on Central Park West, which he purchased in late 2006 for a reported $9,950,000.

I am a big fan of fountains, Moroccan style, and tilework, so how could I resist showing you this fountain? This Moroccan wall fountain ($1250) would look stunning in an outdoor setting. However, I'm not interested in its use as a garden or courtyard element. If you'll remember from the last few How Would You posts, that's not how this Casa post works. Instead, I'm asking you to think outside the home-decorating box and find alternate uses for traditional home accents and furniture pieces.
How would you adapt this wall fountain so it's used in an unusual way? Leave a comment below and let me know where you'd put or how you'd uniquely use this fountain your home. Source
In the midst of the sometimes-seedy pickings for downtown Los Angeles lodging is the Figueroa Hotel. Owner Uno Thimansson has transformed a 1925-vintage former YWCA residence into a funky and lovely moderately priced hotel The 12-story property straddles the line between Moroccan and Mexican style, with beamed ceilings and soaring columns, tile flooring, ceiling fans, Moroccan chandeliers, giant floor pillows, Moroccan poufs, Persian kilims, and exotic fabrics draped from the ceiling. The comfy, cozy, and dimly lit guest rooms feature details such as wrought-iron headboards, canopies, Indian fabrics, and heavy drapery. If you need to tie one on, head back to the deck, where you'll find a mosaic-tiled pool and Jacuzzi and the Verandah Bar, where mixed drinks start at around $7.
